MSM Still Doesn't Get It Right

h/t to a reader for this:

It turns out that in trying to correct an erroneous report, the MSM, including Time and US News and World Report, are still perpetuating a myth.

If there were only a Debka report to rely upon, it might be open to question. But there's now also video at YouTube. I'm referring to the incident around the burning garbage dump, see Michelle Malkin for full details.

In the video below, you'll see a Hizbollah Zelzal missile appearing as though it was launched. It's my understanding it was a mis-launch due to an Israeli missile strike on the launcher.

Quite obviously, what you see coming down and igniting the fire at the dump is not an Israeli Fighter, as I believe is now claimed. It's actually one of Hizbollah's own missiles falling back into Lebanon.

Report: DEBKA: Israeli F-15 Fighter Intercepts Zelzal 160-km. Missile Near Beirut
July 18, 2006, 12:15 AM (GMT+02:00)

DEBKAfile: An Israeli F15 fighter bomber intercepted a Hizballah Zelzal ground-ground missile of 160km range east of Beirut Monday, July 17. According to the rough estimate of Israeli military intelligence, this loss leaves Hizballah with another 11 of these heavy weapons, although its stockpile may prove to be somewhat larger. The descent of the Zelzal shown on Lebanese TV gave rise to the false report that an Israeli warplane had been shot down.

» It's not just Reuters from Michelle Malkin
My syndicated column today hammers home what I think is a crucial point missed in the MSM coverage of the Reuters scandal: "What's the big deal over a little faked smoke?" That seems to be the prevailing attitude among media... [Read More]

MSM news reports bloggers heavily influenced voters to turn away from Joe Lieberman. Bloggers are exposing trickery the MSM employs via photoshop to influence the public. The MSM blurred the line between 'Lebanese Citizens' and 'Hezbollah.' The MSM, in retaliation against bloggers, now intends to demonstrate that there is no difference between 'Citizen Journalism' and 'Pajamas Media.' THINK! Words are manipulated as easily as photographs. The public does not need any 'thought police,' as the confusion brought on by this cacophony of "news" will baffle all!

So, Dave,

Are you suggesting One Blog For All? The Stepford Blog?

There is no retaliation from the MSM against bloggers. They're just getting spanked. About time as consumption of Pepto-Dismal goes up in producers offices.
