Well, that's Pundita's view. As always, she offers some good observations.
I hope you listened to Yossef Bodansky's report last night [on the John Batchelor show]. He said that Tehran is upset that [Hassan] Nasrallah has become a superstar in the region and throughout the Muslim world because of his stand against Israel's military! I thought of your Uppity Puppet essay and I started laughing.

lol... "puppy fart"?

And, I think Olmert accepted the cease fire for a number of reasons, with the biggest one being it's time to take Arik Sharon off the machines! And, his death, while troops are engaged would have been worse than "puppy farts."
So, Bibi gets to act, I suppose, as if he inherits Sharon's mantle. Where people wouldn't remember WHY there's a Kadima party; and why Bibi doesn't inherite the Sharon mantle.
Besides it was so HOT up in Metulla. What's wrong with a break, here? Fixing the tanks. And, the men who had to schvitz into their uniforms. The weather gets better. Bush is on the same page as Olmert.
And, I don't think Olmert's government will get pulled down. Don't forget only a dumb cow would like Dahlia Itzik! And, she's the petunia running to have a secret meeting with Bibi?
I know. I know. This is a very big production. And, all the media hype will be thrown into this as if there's a vacuum.
Episode two won't catch the IDF napping. Nasrallah did not "get" Metullah, which was his real desire. The two kidnapped soldiers were just a boobie prize.
The arab press extolls nasarallah? REALLY. Like arabs don't talk behind each other's backs? Only knesset members do that. Sure. Sure.
It feels good to laugh.
Can't quite grasp that Arik Sharon hasn't been buried yet. Poor man lost his life in this fight on January 4th. It's just the doctors, now. And, their machines. By the way, IF there is re-engagement, EVERYTHING in Southern Lebanon and SYRIA is fair game. NO LEAFLETS. And, I think the arabs are gonna be more gun shy, not less. And, Siniora can go POOF. Because that's what nasrallah wants. And, nasrallah's ANGRY. Oh, you don't know that? Well, that's common sense reasoning.
