Okay, so there's the potential for a N. Korean nuclear test. But this is a bit more troubling, given the timing. Yes, it's posturing. But it is also immediately prior to the deadline for Iran's answer to the UN on nukes - not that it's in doubt.
What is in doubt, according to some, is what if any surprises Iran may have in store to go along with the response. It isn't as though we can be 100% sure what is taking place between North Korea and Iran. Iranians were present for North Korea's recent missile tests. So, coordination of some form isn't out of the question.
God forbid North Korea made a deal with Iran for an actual bomb. If you wanted to live in interesting times ... unfortunately, this be them.
Iran will launch a series of large-scale military maneuvers across the country and has not made plans for an end to the ongoing war games, the army said Thursday.
"The maneuvers are aimed at introducing Iran's new defensive doctrine," military spokesman Gen. Mohammad Reza Ashtiani was quoted as saying by state-run television.
He said the exercises would begin on Saturday in the south east of the country. "It will continue in the whole of Iran, stage by stage for an unspecified period," Ashtiani said.
The announcement came as Iran faces heightened international scrutiny because of its contentious nuclear program and for supporting the Lebanese Hizbullah guerrillas.

North Korea has nukes, and people starving in the streets.
Iran made about $46 billion from oil exports last year. Why would anyone think they HAVEN'T made a deal?
Iran has said it will answer the UN's demands on Aug 22. And now they've started destroying sattelite dishes on Iranian rooftops. http://powerlineblog.com/archives/015038.php
I got a real bad feeling about next week.
