Feckless French Want Command

Pretty much what one would expect from the decayed empire. As far as boots on the ground, the French continue to demonstrate their worthlessness. But, of course, they expect to be in command. How long before that now useless country gets flushed down the toilet of Islamo-fascism?

The real wonder is why anyone allows the insignificant entity to continue to try and play at being a world power. No wonder they wanted the EU. On their own, they are nothing but a shadow of what they once were. At least the mullahs will compel their women to cover their hairy pits.

UNITED NATIONS, Aug. 17 -- France has rebuffed U.N. pleas to make a major contribution to a peacekeeping mission in southern Lebanon, setting back international efforts to send a credible military force to the region to police a cease-fire between Israel and Hezbollah, according to U.N. and French officials.

French President Jacques Chirac instead committed Thursday to send a relatively small military engineering company of 200 soldiers to serve in a reinforced U.N. peacekeeping mission that is expected to grow to 15,000 strong and that will help Lebanon police a demilitarized zone in southern Lebanon. He also said that a force of 1,700 French troops and crew stationed in ships off the coast of Lebanon could be sent in to help the U.N. force during a crisis.

"Q. This resolution might involve 2,000 to 15,000 Finul [UN] troops. Will France send troops to Lebanon?"
Answer:
"France believes that it's essential that many countries contribute to Finul's [UN troops'] reinforcements. We will examine with our European partners the possible additional support which we will be able to bring, and the President of the Republic [Chirac] will make a decision. We want to do it in a European spirit. As we already participate in Finul, we agree completely to take part in Finul [UN troop] reinforcements".
He sure wasn't going to commit to anything.

I travel frequently to France & Spain. Unlike Mr. Rhiel's who seem to spill poison at every word, I found the French to be polite, and helpful. I am shure that the French do have their fair chare of Idiots, but it is Blogs like this that reminds me of why people around the world dislike Americans these days. If you talk to the French, or Spaniards (Or all Europeans for that matter) you would be surprised how similar they are to us, and our values.They are simply put, very nice people that go out of their way to help you in a way that we Americans (That includes me) will not do. That is the reality, if you care to see it. You don't believe me go to Europe, or ask some one that has. But wherever you do DO NOT get your info from views like Mr. Rhiel on this blog.

It is Idiots like Rhiel that spoil it for the rest of us Americans when traveling abroad.

By the way, going back to the topic of the article. Maibe the French do not want to send that many troops simply because they are looking at our little adventure in Iraq and seeing the futility and danger of getting sucked in to the Middle East vortex of hate.

We can of course hope that all Right Wingers out there will join the Army and serve (And help the poor coward French). Is about time that they show us all Liberals and Centrist (And the French) how real man defend their country. I am not holding my breath tough, these people only talk, they don't do the walk.... Right Wingers always have "Other Priorities" (Like demand that we start a war so that some one else can serve)when time comes to fight.
