Liberal blogger and Ned Lamont campaign confidant Jane Hamsher has been under fire for an image of CT Senator Joe Lieberman in Black Face she posted in a blog entry at The Huffington Post. Details of that story here via Michelle Malkin.
However, when it comes to smearing Lieberman, that may not qualify as the most offensive action of Lamont Aide-de-Campaign and fund-raiser Hamsher. She has repeatedly used racist comments and sexually perverted imagery to help raise tens of thousands of dollars for Ned Lamont. Early in the campaign Hamsher specifically directed readers to the image at right by posting this: Update: Howie has more Lieberman graphics love here
As early as March 13, 2006 Hamsher led off her blog with an attack on Lieberman for his stance on birth control; it was entitled Lieberman Supports Rapist Rights in Connecticut. And that was long before she was involved in advising the Lamont campaign, as has now been documented in various blog posts.
Obviously the Black Face image isn't the first time Hamsher has invoked racial overtones in her condemnation of Lieberman. In this March post she referred to Lieberman as a Ho, pronouncing someone who had the audacity to write a positive NYT's Op-Ed on Lieberman ... his pimp. The post, entitled: Ho Lieberman doesn't need the Times to be his pimp was accompanied by a fund raising plea for challenger Ned Lamont.
In a post entitled, Screw Israel, Lieberman Sticks To His Bush, Hamsher had this to say: Commander Codpiece knows that Joe Lieberman can always be counted upon for the public fluff. The codpiece reference is aimed at President George Bush and a fluff girl is pornography industry vernacular for an individual charged with keeping waiting actors stimulated, often with oral sex. Race and sexual perversion appear to be Hamsher's regular stock in trade. Hopefully she's toned it down a bit when offering the Lamont campaign advice on video's and such.
In another report on Lamont fund-raising Hamsher quoted a friend in attendance who suggested Lamont might not be so much against the war, as he is convinced it's simply been lost. It's unclear how Lamont came by his military expertise:
I was wary of hearing any double-talk or weasel words. There were none. He went right to Jack Murtha and showed me immediately that not only does he support a plan for withdrawal but that he has a far better grasp of what the war is all about than old-line Democratic "thinkers" like Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton and Wes Clark (all of whom are still babbling nonsense about "winning," an absurd concept to begin with).
Hamsher also compared Lieberman to The American Taliban while raising money for Lamont and drawing attention to his new blog.
People in the entertainment industry have long know that Lieberman is happy to curry the favor of the universal pecksniffs by smashing free speech. He is despised by both conservatives and liberals alike for being -- among other things -- a vicious homophobe, as Howie notes. His adventures in Bush kissing have just allowed the rest of the country to get a glimse(sic) of what a toxic little churl he is. Read Howie's post, it's excellent.
The antidote: Ned Lamont. You can also visit Ned's new blog.
There can be little doubt that research would reveal plenty of additional content some would call despicable. And all of it directly benefited the Lamont campaign, as Hamsher consistently linked her posts to fund raising efforts said to have produced tens of thousands of dollars for the Lamont campaign.

Ms Hamsher is way too close to a lawsuit that she will never forget.
I thought Michael Moore was crass, this gal is obviously impulsive and mean spirited.

Lieberman needs the stones to use this stuff in his campaign. Not "condemn it" per se, rather use it to show what sort of crowd Lamont attracts and allows to "have influence".

Lieberman and Lamont will be on Meet the Press this Sunday.
I emailed MTP about the vile blogger smears. It would be so good if Tim Russert put some of these images on the screen, and asked Lamont to explain them. I can dream.
If anyone wants to nudge Mr. Russert, you have to go to msnbc.com and use their funky Meet the Press feedback form, no direct email.

What a WATB! Your house democrat is about to get his ass kicked and your whining like a little girl.
This is no different than when Javits was defeated by conservative D'Amato in the NY primary. Get over it.

Ed, you stupid twat. Even if Lamont wins the primary, he is going to lose the general election. Lose. You and your brainwashed cohorts are twats and no one wants you running the government. Get over it.

The really sad/enraging thing about Hamsher et al, is that these rabid jackals are just honing their incisors for the ultimate feast in '08.
Christ, I wish I could move to ... Mars or maybe Montanna.
It is going to get ugly folks.
You'll need Gallagher splatter gear just to watch TV.
The Human Veg-O-Matics at work.

Nope. This is the best thing that could happen. As long as the blogs are on top of their antics, this will only make the dems look worse and worse. 'Regular' people do not like this stuff. Let them implode.
