Correction - Beirut International Airport.
BEIRUT, Lebanon - Shells crashed on a runway at Beirut's international airport early Thursday during an ongoing Israeli air and sea assault against Lebanon, forcing diversion of two flights to Cyprus, airport employees said.
A shell crashed shortly after 6 a.m. on the eastern runway, one of three the facility has, employees said. Another impact was heard shortly afterward. Two flights arriving at the airport had to return to Larnaca Airport in Cyprus.
The airport, however, remained open and the main terminal of the half-billion-dollar facility built in the late 1990s was intact.
It was not clear if the shelling came from Israeli military aircraft or gunboats. The airport is located in the southern suburbs of Beirut, a stronghold of Hezbollah guerrillas.

I say, Israel....Whatever happens now is fair game. You have declared war and the world is condeming your actions..Your women and children are fair game.If the US could get off their "Israel can do no wrong" policy and condemn this crap, maybe they would realize they are abusing their power. The US must speak now and not back Israel on their terror campaign that could ignite another major war in the middle east.

Why do Muslims think they own the middle east? Didn't judeo-christianity come first from that area. The land must be shared.

Actually, net, most of the world [who is speaking] are not issuing their reflexive "damn Israel to hell" statements. The writing is pretty much on the wall here. The proxies have been loosed to wage withering war on Israel, and the patrons of Syria and Iran [and possibly others] are watching for any openings. We all -- even the hyper-sensitive Europeans -- are aware of this.
Maybe if your buddy Ahmadinejad hadn't been so bombastic about moving Israel to Europe and veiling their threats to use nukes to accomplish it, the Europeans might have fallen into their standard pattern of "blame Israel first". But no, the world is not condemning Israel this time. And the UN is only asking for "restraint".
Sorry, guy.

net - you have a problem. Sane observers think you are an idiot. "World" condemnation? Save it for the terrorist birthing hag on the cover of USA Today.

Hit the TV station? How dare they!! That has to be a violation of their First Amendment rights. They should sue Israel in a U.S. court somewhere within the Ninth Circuit. The liberal judges here would award them billions.

net, you are delusional. I think you need to go to DU with that... they'll let you get away with it. Israel didn't kidnap the soldier and brag about it while making demands. Then Hiz copycats. I've never seen such whining, so called men in my life. A neighboring country was working on things between them; As usual... they blew it.
They sowed the wind... now they will reap the whirlwind. Three times Israel tried to give land... what happened each time?... rockets. Now we're to believe they gave up land so they could attack? You need to wake up and read the original documents.
Now Safed, which was hit with rockets in the North is a holy site... how would you feel if something happened at Al Aqsa?
One small country in a nest of nations... still not good enough. Your leaders have been clear on their intentions... as well as "holy men", nothing less than wiping them out will do. If all of Israel left today... still no peace, you know it and I know it.

Israel should do whatever it needs to do to protect itself, its citizens.
Long live Israel !!
Those people over there is those surrounding territories are evil killers.
Look at their faces and their eyes. They all look like the devil. A human
life means nothing to them. If they all blow themselfs up its okay by me.
They are useless pieces of crap and losers. Hope they all are killed or die.
The world woudl be a better place if they all go poof!

"Im a Christian(non practising"
Yeah, that's as obvious as the nose on Jimmy Durante's face. And by the way...you are either a Christian or not. There is no such thing as "non-practicing"
Posted by: Rick | Thursday, July 13, 2006 at 02:59 PM
There is no such word as "practicing". "Practice" is a noun. It has two forms only: "practice" (singular) and "practices" (plural).
so i guess i was born a christian and then figured out that religion is the cause of all conflict in the world.so f**k all the jew christian and muslim(fanatics).find something to watch on tv

"i was born a christian and then figured out that religion is the cause of all conflict in the world."
Well, that's neatly incorrect, and the result of sloppy edumacation.
Go back and try again.

BORN a christian???? I don't think so. Stop walking past and go into the library one day. A little light reading will show that ALL of man's problems have been caused by other men. Though "religion" is sometimes the excuse. You'll find that the reason is most often greed. A sin that ALL religions preach against. Only moon bats blame "religion" for the failings of man........I blame the public schools.

Religion is the excuse, not the cause. It's not like God is telling me to put my foot up your ass. I just use that for cover, see?

Even though you all think Israel can do no wrong..this is not the way most of the world(not controlled by the jewish lobby) thinks.
