Israel will need more time and may have to prepare for more significant losses of military personnel as a serious ground war now looks inevitable if reports are to be believed.
It appears as though they lured themselves into a certain complacency, in part inspired by the rave reviews their military has always received, especially its Air Force. Israel shifted major dollars and additional resources from their ground army to their air force over the years. During the same years, Hezbollah was digging tunnels and building bunkers, many deep enough to survive aerial assault. And Israel did not invest heavily into any bunker busting munitions, which may or may not have helped in the end.
Now, with a ground force which hasn't had the benefit of being seen as Israel's primary line of offense in any Lebanese war, they're being forced to call up reservists. That isn't unusual for Israel's military - what may prove to be unusual is that they have not enjoyed the training they might have ... given a different overall military outlook. That could mean a steeper price in causalities from a pending ground assault. It could also lead to greater civilian causalities in Lebanon.

God Bless Israel, God Bless America.

your comment is spot on! Additionally, I want to remind everyone, that Israel never lost a war, as far back as 1967. Accprding to the Bible, it is because it is 'God's Nation", and as the Bible clearly states: "if you curse my people, I will curse you! If you won't assist my people, I will doom you!" I'm not a religious nut, but believe me that I do take Bible teachings very seriously. I would also recommend to read up on current events at www.tomorrowsworld.org.
