Clicking over to Memeorandum just now, I found myself hoping that the Left Wing of the blogosphere doesn't hurt blogging as a whole. It really is something to behold.
According to them via The Lamont Blog, no less - Senator Lieberman is now "filling the air with outright lies". And why? For using a prop bumper sticker in a campaign ad that reads "No More Joe":
Problem is… we have never created such a bumper sticker. That means they literally paid for designers to “replicate” our branding, creating a bumper sticker to deceive the people of CT that such an advertising tool exists.
Is there an adult with the Lamont campaign monitoring that site? Even the LA Times is talking about purely foolish Democrats, meanwhile the Left is jumping on the story.
Some are now starting to come around to defending the unhinged Deb Frisch.
This week they ran with the story of Coulter's plagiarism, which by most reasonable accounts doesn't exist. Even kos realizes that. And let us not forget, not long ago many were on the edges of their seats waiting for Truth Out to tell us that Karl Rove had been indicted - even after the story was dismissed.
Is it the spotlight right after YearlyKos that's leading to this infestation of crazy within the so-called reality-based community, or have they been this bad all along? I honestly don't know, as I have spent relatively little time reading them in the past.
Whatever it is, given the mess they are making of their fifteen minutes of fame, I hope it doesn't ultimately damage blogging as a whole.
Update: DC just thinks they're weird.
Update 2: David Brooks seems to agree.
Update 3: Democracy Project thinks it could cost them some elections.

Perhaps, Dan, you could point to a single left-wing blogger (maybe even one in, say, the A or B tier) who's actually supporting Deb Frisch? And I don't mean saying things like "Jeff Goldstein brings this on himself," which is not the same thing at all.
No?
I didn't think so.

Lefty, before you say "no" you should give people a chance to answer. The answer is actually "yes." Take a look at Gidblog. Look at some of the comments on Deb Frisch's site.

"And I don't mean saying things like "Jeff Goldstein brings this on himself," which is not the same thing at all."
Laugh out loud. Talk about revealing the institutionalized tolerance for hate within the liberal community. Lefty considers the following a suitable condemnation: "Killing or raping Goldstein's child would be wrong, but it's his fault if it happens".
Thanks, Lefty, you been a wonderful spokesthing for liberal America. We must vote your community back into power.

Lefty - from Frisch's site: "Thanks to sadly no for writing the first, to my knowledge, fair and balanced report of my unfortunate experience at protein wisdom."
Blame Jeff, that's fair and balanced? Also she lists another, along with the commenters supporting her. See for yourself:

Tony Blankley may have understated it when he wrote that the Democrat Party had become too loathsome to be seen in public.

Hopefully it will only hurt lib blogs and they will be seen for the fools they are.
What will remain is the truth based conservative blogs. God knows we need them.

Is anyone aware that the good Doctor Frisch has posted under the moniker "lefty" while perambulating the 'net? We may have just been visited by the alien herself.
Posted by: rwilymz | Monday, July 10, 2006 at 10:01 AM
They're playing the moral equivalence game, saying that they don't necessarily defend Frisch but they think the right wing is even worse or hypocritical for not showing the level (that they define) of outrage (that they define) when righties (that they define) say objectionable (that they define) things.
Trent Lott could not be reached for comment.
Good lord, it's fish-in-a-barrel day. BTW, sadly no is in deep defensive mode right now....looks like the NFL prevent defense played late in the 4th quarter. Why do people not distance themselves from obvious moonbats 100% and then still criticize their opponents on a different topic is beyond me.

This whole thing is making me want to take a shower. In response to the Frisching affair (and Ace's older post "Why does the left hate Goldstein?") I ended up clicking on some Goldstein synopsis by someone with the moniker Retardo Montalbon. I don't even remember if it was at Sadly,No or elsewhere, but it wasn't pleasant reading, even for an occasional hothead like me. I hope the whole damn thing passes with a big lesson learned.

Jeff certainly needs no help. The formula is a mystery, but he seems to attract a crowd very effectivly. And then there are questions of substance...
A very interesting July 1st post at www.MichaelTotten.com Title: Moderate Muslim Group Found. OK, that is interesting….. But then this comment from [TD]

Michael,
I'd just like to say "thank you" for articles like these... I come away from other sites and blogs thinking the future is bleak, then I come here and read your work, and I find that there's still hope.
I disagree with your assessment of the Muslim Brotherhood though... This document might interest you:

It ends with,
** The mistake for Muslims as well as for Westerners, would be to play their game and treat them as valid representatives of Islam, and political or social mediator.
Like all fascists, The Brotherhood exists only to satisfy the appetites and fantasies of its Leaders.**

I printed off the six pages for reference. This background could be useful to you especially.
It is not the most cheerful, but one should be in the know. TG

Hurt blogging Dan?
I am very worried about the nation, as a whole, being hurt by the antics I am seeing.
It will only increase in intensity and volume as we approach the elections.
Given the world situation right now - the possible harm these lunatics can do, far exceeds the environs of the blogsphere, amigo.

BTW, this is starting to remind me of the summer 1968.
But instead of screaming masses on the streets - they are on the computer.

Has anyone worked out the textbook definition of "Frisched"? As in:
"Dude! She frisched herself!"
or
"No matter how loudly he squealed, Ward Churchill's 'Eichmann' statement really frisched him!"
A nice clean Webster-esque:
Frisched: n."Revolting blog attacks at the level of sexual assault on toddlers that blow back and cost the scumbucket a career and render them unemployable for the remainder of his/her/it's life?"
The above is just clumsy and awful... my wordsmithing is poor. Perhaps a bit of upper-level craftsmanship to commemorate this disgusting creature and simplify the identification of her kin?
Take a whack at it!

What is surprizing is the number of people who are surprised. Geeze, wanna hear death threats and true hate speech? Spend ten minutes (if you can stand it) listening to air america. They all want YOU and your children dead.....but then it's the right who are facist. Go figure. And yes, I concede to the looney left that a few right-over-the-top's have said an outrageous thing or two. But hate speech is de riguer among the "truly-tolerant" left. SO big deal, in the absence of ideas throw hate and accusations.

That's the only thing they are tolerant of.

Oh, I'm sure the NY Times would give a lot of dough to destroy the Right Blogosphere. But I doubt they can. Since, right here you've got more coverage (and viewers) on "Out'da Joe" than the MSM can hope for. And, if the part of the blogger's sphere that gets aimed at, is US, then the noises you hear as the left goes down, will be HUGE. You can't shoot at the world wide web. Easier, to take down haarvard yard.
As to Joe and his race (I mean his run for office); it's all a hoot. Since where's the contest? The GOP has a candidate running that's viable? I didn't think so.
But it's summer. Other than thoee who communicate by NET, plus are living in the USA, with citizenship to vote, you think anyone else is paying attention? Really?
Turns out "viewership" is an unstable condition. Like cars on the road. To gauge speed there, the vehicles have to CHANGE speeds. Otherwise, the registers don't move.
And, meanwhile, our acceleration is pretty good.
While Joe is just a tired Bar Mitzvah singer. He holds a minority chair. In a minority party going to pot.
Meanwhile, the GOPsters can't get to move too far ahead, either. The ball does seem stuck in the middle of the field. (But in a world where everything else is losing money, that used'ta make money much closer to the goal posts) ... ya gotta wonder about the products on the shelf. Do politicians expire like old milk, unrefrigerated? Years pass. And, for some reason so many of them look the same. Or about the same. Was Fat Teddy once thin? Did women once think the Kennedy men were so gorgeous that giving them free sex for nothing was worth it? (I heard, before Monica Lewinsky was old enough), that there were volunteers in 1960, who pinned their Kennedy buttons on their Bush. This is a true story from the past.) Turn around. And, there ya go. A Bush is president. Who knows why some people just don't change their family names? Or why some things are supposed to matter? Whatever your cup of Joe, it doesn't matter, here. And, if Lieberman wins or loses, so what? If he loses, the dems threw one of their minority chairs out the wind'a.
