Have They Ever Asked You?

One would think that an institution that defines itself, first and foremost, as American might have a democratic element to it. I'm referring to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

They've never been on a ballot somewhere, so far as I know. Never run for or held any office. Yet, they purport to speak for America and Americans. Do they?

Do the majority of Americans want some mostly Left wing lawyers suing our government to force them to reveal more information about our current terror investigation programs? Perhaps you do, but I don't. And what about the danger from the ACLU?

Our often lenient American justice system is exploited by some everyday. Suits can be brought in one Court as opposed to another, in many cases allowing a plaintiff to seek out a particular judge they suspect will look approvingly on their suit - one that another Judge might promptly dismiss.

With enough money from some few and the right amount of Court or judge shopping, it wouldn't be impossible for a few to exploit our system of justice to actually move against the American people, in a sense.

Given that Courts in general can fall out of step with the will of the American people, who is it that protects us from that? I doubt very much it's the ACLU.

Now they are pursuing the government through available channels to uncover even more information regarding our terrorist monitoring strategies and programs. Did they ask you?

Comments

How else can the New York Times et.al print information harmful to the USA?

Would you have held this opinion during the 1960s when the ACLU was fighting in favor of civil rights for racial minorities?
