Update: Gee, Hezbollah is firing from in and around UN positions. D'ya think that might have something to do with why one was hit?
This is a tough one. I'm not sure if it should go to the pathetic Democrats, who used the Iraqi PM's visit as a political ploy and wound up looking incredibly small, as well as anti-American. They really do have no shame or sense of judgment. I find their behavior as disgusting and as disgraceful as anything they've done in several years.
But it's hard to beat Kofi (sitting under the Yum Yum tree) Annan, the illustrious corrupt, or perhaps really just dumb, Secretary of the UN. Why they let a secretary run the thing is beyond me. I mean, Kofi sure isn't a General anything, other than generally as disgraceful as a Liberal Democrat ... and today he went for the gold.
Read Belmont Club for the perspective the MSM won't bother to provide.
Still great links to follow the war news: Pajamas Media, or read a few regional blogs. I like to check the JP headlines, as well.

I for one never could understand what made Kofi Annan such a standout to become appointed to head the UN. And since he's been in he hasn't accomplished anything significant. The UN is useless. As to the latest political ploy by the Dems, it's so typical. While I am not happy that Iraq's Prime Minister can simply ask for more American soldiers and get them (just like that!) the Dems should have acted like professionals (instead of whining babies) and just done the right thing. What ever happened to gentlemen in Congress?

Remember Kofi got the UN head gig because Bill Clinton didnt like Boutrous Boutrous-Galli (Annan's predecessor). Kofi is really a Clintonian stooge
Actually, Kofi is the Ebony Hitler...his statement yesterday was nothing more than re-spewing Mein Kampf.
Of course the liberal media will give him a pass because he is, ahem, black. The UN should be disbanded

This is a great web site directly from Israel with up to the minute reporting during the hours they are awake there.
God bless Israel.

Kofi Anan is a terrorist lover.

this just in:
http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/07/26/iran.volunteers.ap/index.html
60 more Iranians have volunteered to join the 200 who are planning to caravan their way to Lebanon, through Turkey and Syria, to join Hezbollah and fight Israel.
More fodder for the cannon.

These liberal dems. really burn my ass. They get out of sorts because the Iraq PM hasn't condemned hezbollah and they, with Dick Durbin and Ted Kennedy in the lead, have spent every waking hour for the last four years undermining the US conduct of the war in Iraq and the war on terror.

"Dick Durbin and Ted Kennedy in the lead, have spent every waking hour for the last four years undermining the US conduct of the war in Iraq and the war on terror."
Actually it's about undermining the president, the wars are merely a convenient vehicle to that end. If Kerry were running the war he would be second only to Alexander the Great in this effort.

Just read your post AND WENT TO THAT LINK. the part below really urps me.
Some bowed before a memorial to Hezbollah-linked suicide bombers who carried out the 1983 blast at Marine barracks in Beirut that killed 241 U.S. servicemen. An almost simultaneous bombing killed 56 French peacekeepers.

It was my understanding that a UN peacekeeping force withdraws when asked by either party. Or when instructed by the Secretary-General. Perhaps that is not true.
The fighting has been going on about two weeks. The observers had no function and all should have been withdrawn from the area. Israel would have been better off to have publicly requested it when serious conflict started. Now they ae blamed for this - and I for one can't know what went wrong.

So much news to get riled up over today, I couldn't think straight. I found myself gleeful at Kofi Annan's apparent distress at the presser in Rome where he wrung his hands and had very little to say. I figured he was spanked bad in the back room. His job, after all, was to see that UN 1559 was enforced. He did apologize for his 'knee-jerk' comments about the bombing of the UN quarters in Lebanon. I was also gleeful at Condi's tough, subtle, succinct message. I love that woman. I was happy to hear Saudi Arabia and Jordan and a few other Arab countries promise to help with humanitarian aid without spouting invective against Israel.
Then I watched Dennis Hastert announce PM Al Maliki as: "Here is the Prime Minister of EYEROCK." and I cringed.
Then those democrats who refused to go hear the Prime Minister. I am speechless. Of all that happened today, I think that just about did me in.
I feel like being a dixie chick and screaming, "Hey! I am sorry we have such people in our government!"

Niw they have an email from one of the UN peacekeepers, before the outpost was hit, that he (peacekeeper) knew there was bombing all around but said it was not directed at them
Not good for Kofi. I am sure Hezbollah has a headband to cover his face since he lost it
