Hard to imagine who the Syrian would be boy dictator thinks he's kidding. It isn't as if anyone is even interested in his opinion, or much afraid of his army. Israel would have an easier time taking out Syria's army than even Hezbollah, as they would have to mass to be effective.
Yet he's chiming in as against an International force - no doubt because UNFIL is easier to bribe. And he has raised the country's military alert status. The Syrian army is more an effective internal police force to keep opposition down, than it is a force to take the field in an International conflict.
It's good to see Olmert still talking tough. Shame about Depeche Mode cancelling a concert in Israel - how's that for a who cares? Didn't even know they were still around.

I think the last thing Syria wants is an international force mucking about in the Bekka Valley. Lots of drugs being run out of there and rumors of WMDs being stored there. Any international force would clean that place out first, if they knew what they were doing. Bush is standing firm because he knows this is a stick in the eye of Iran and Syria, with Europe being the cherry on top.

Bush is standing firm because all is going according to the neo-cons futuristic sight. Sooner or later any group who claims to hear the voice of god telling them to kill the infidels is going to make a mistake. With patience, reason always wins over delusion.
