Came across this phrase while reading something unfortunate. It was originally used here.
a powerful coterie of lesbians
I'm unsure if it gives me the sense of some type of super-heroines, as in:
At the last minute, a powerful coterie of lesbians swooped in and saved the day ...
or more a sense of some western outlaw gang.
The Daltons are coming to town sheriff. And they're strapped.
Well, that certainly is a powerful coterie of lesbians. Best we close up the saloon til things blow over.
Just a phrase that sort of stuck out today, is all. h/t Instapundit

Wouldn't the proper collective noun be "a Birkenstock of lesbians"?

From the "something unfortunate" article:
"...analyzing the potential for radical social change at UCSC."
Wouldn't that entail hiring, say, Ben Stein as UCSC President, and appointing David Horowitz as Dean of Academics?
I mean, how much more "radical" can UCSC get, without going in the completely opposite direction?

Christ, and I thought I was the only one who saw Birkenstock as shoes for lesbians.
