The shells, found buried in 2004 near the Iranian border, were leftovers from Iraq's war with Iran, which ended in 1988; U.S. inspectors have long concluded that these shells were no longer active, and should not be categorized as part of the WMD stockpile
Well, it's really only a thought. But I'm thinking we can easily do a test here. I'm for inviting Alan Colmes, any MSM journalist and every left wing blogger, like those quotes here, downplaying the WMD to attend a short test.
They can all go off into the desert with as many rusty, filled, half-filled, or not, canisters and shells of Sarin and Mustard gas they can carry. We'll even give them little wagons, Red ones, their favorite color.
Once safely out of our harms way, they will have two hours to toss, frolic among, inhale, or otherwise imbibe said contents to their little hearts content. And, when and if they return, they will be fully entitled to dismiss these claims at their leisure.
So, any takers?

Yeah, I didn't think so.
Saddam had some, once upon a time, and he may have sought to acquire them once again, but he didn't have them before the second Gulf War, the Iraq War, and he certainly didn't have them in the way that the war's chief proponents — Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, the neocons, etc. — said he did.

Now if you'd have offered to let them smoke it or perhaps make brownies out of it you'd have had'em beating down your door.

I'm still trying to figure out why Saddam put "pesticides" in warheads ... early in the war, NPR reported that chemicals found in Saddam warheads were just "pesticides," so don't worry about it.
Pesticides in warheads. For those long distance locusts, I guess. Perfectly understandable. Move along, nothing to see. Mooooooooo...

I'm sure you already know this, frau, but [most] pesticides and [most of the prohibited] chemical weapons work the same way: on the central nervous system.
It's a very convenient way for critics to trivialize reality.

I still don't understand why the Bush administration is downplaying this. Also, I'd like to see the entire report declassified.

Yes, it is about time the doubters of the WMDs in Iraq put their money where their mouth is, and go with them to be tested.
After all, they are so sure they know they were not there, so what do they have to worry about!!!
