In today's Philadelphia Inquirer, Senator John Kerry calls for American troops to come home from Iraq by the end of 2006 and also gives us a look at how he would suggest we fight the global war on terrorism.
We will not leave Iraq vulnerable. Under my plan, the United States will maintain an over-the-horizon military presence in the Middle East to fight the war on terror and protect regional security interests.
Over-the-horizon is one thing, unfortunately, if one goes over-the-horizon far enough, you eventually wind up where the proverbial sun don't shine, or in the dark, to be more kind; though just as precise. And the longer Kerry goes on, the easier it is to see that he has no real plan to combat world terrorism.
To give Iraq its best hope for a peaceful future, the administration should convene a summit that includes the leaders of that country, its neighbors, and representatives from the Arab League, NATO, the United Nations and the European Union to forge the comprehensive political solution that is necessary to bring stability to Iraq.
Why Kerry chose to leave out the Anytown, USA School Board and Smelter's Union from such a vast and glorious group, he doesn't say. But what is clear is that the UN alone has proved its inability to act, time and again - from Rwanda, to Darfur and now Somalia. That Kerry proposes such sweeping diplomatic cover for anything resembling a genuine plan shouldn't be surprising. There's comfort in a large group, given so many places to hide, or factions upon which to place blame for inaction, or a failed solution.
The time has come for a Congress that shares responsibility for getting us into Iraq to take responsibility for helping to get us out. Sure, we were misled.
Also, unsurprisingly, as always, Kerry wants to have it both ways. On the one hand, he suggests he, as a member of Congress, bares some responsibility for the war. Yet, at the same time, he's not the least bit shy about perpetuating the myth that it was really George Bush's fault.
Kerry has never appeared ready to take responsibility for his actions - not as a young Lieutenant in the Navy, not as a Vietnam War protester and not as a Presidential Candidate in 2004.
Obviously, he still isn't prepared to take responsibility, particularly for his votes and positions as regards the war. Fortunately, those are only John Kerry's failures. They need not be America's, as well. Thank God.

Would Kerry suggest we do the same here...lets govern the US by a committee of Canada, Mexico, Cuba, UN and well since Russia is a neighbor of Alaska, they get an invite too...what a dumnbA$$!

It's plain to see that Kerry is a man with a mission.
And that mission is to get power for himself.
Trouble is, if he ever did get into a position of power, he would not know what to do with it!!
He's like a great big jelly.
That wibble wobbles all over!!

Remember the How Can 59 Million People Be So Stupid? headline?
Turned out to be prophetic. Final vote tally was Bush 62 million, Kerry 59 million
The man is too political to be president

"should convene a summit that includes the leaders of that country, its neighbors, and representatives from the Arab League"
The stupid twit still doesn't get that most of Iraq's neighbors want it to fail. God is he thick.
"An over the horizon miltiary presence". What a joke. Let's concentrate on rushing into ambushes or arriving after it's too late. Murtha's excuse for this idiocy is he's senile. What's Kerry's?

I just watched a show called 'Lie Detector' on Pax (Rolanda Watts is the host) & a guest was Steve Gardner, one of the Swift Boat Veterans who accused Kerry of lying about his "war" record. Today's show highlighted the particular incident where Kerry was accused by the veterans of leaving out in one of his reports the death of a young boy in Vietnam. Of course the lie detector showed Gardner to be telling the truth about the accusations of LeFraude Kerry. Wonder how KerryCamp '08 will spin this.
Whatever some may think of a lie detector test, at least Gardner had the nerve to go on national tv to prove himself.
