Watch how quickly the American media weighs in - don't hold your breath. That might qualify as torture to them, if you're American, that is.

Torture is a world-constant. Every nation, at all times in their individual histories, have undertaken torture for the standard reasons: To get information; to get revenge; to get leverage.
Civilized nations which have citizens who misguidedly believe that "civilized" means treating its enemies like friends think only bad people do torture so therefore the US [e.g.] is bad, but that nations the US doesn't like are entitled to use torture because, well, they're fighting the US and they have to use every weapon they have.
So Iran will continue to cut the fingers and cajones off its disidents and the American press will yawn, but when the CIA makes Gitmo detainees eat with their left hand and wipe their ass with their right they'll throw themselves on the pavement and kick and scream.

As long as they stop before putting panties on someone's head or allowing a dog to bark at them.

And now we're learning in the ALTERNATE media that the Marines weren't out of line in Haditha?

The sad truth is that it is not "news" that Iran is torturing people. We EXPECT them to torture people. That is why it doesn't get much coverage - it isn't "news" to anyone.

I've basically been doing nothing to speak of. Basically nothing seems worth thinking about. I feel like a void, but that's how it is. I've just been hanging out doing nothing.
