Blogs are buzzing over the news that US Military forces are being accused of beating recently killed terrorist leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
An Iraqi man who was one of the first people on the scene of the U.S. airstrike targeting Abu Musab al-Zarqawi said he saw American troops beating a man who had a beard like the al Qaeda leader.
Jeff Goldstein has more at link above and Allah is also covering the shocking revelations at Hot Air.
Now, a young Iraqi, or Syrian, Jordanian, or possibly an Egyptian photojournalist, Mohammed Mohammed Mohammed, said to study journalism intermittently at NYU in between donating his time to the Intifada and various other humanitarian causes, has come forward with what Time Magazine is sure to call an alarming photo suggesting some form of abuse may have taken place.
An anonymous commander with US forces on the ground in Iraq denounced the report and the photo as a misrepresentation of an on going Hearts and Minds program through which coalition forces reach out to Iraqi youth to establish better relations.
"That is not the head of Zarqawi," insisted the commander. "It's an innocent game of hacky sack brought on from the World Cup mania currently sweeping the region. "While the hacky sack may resemble Zarqawi," said the commander, that's only because American manufacturers are co-operating by designing toys and athletic equipment in forms Iraqi children can better understand.
"We call that one the Iraqi-zak," he said. "Look at those kids," he went on. "The little buggers are having a blast kicking that thing around. You media types need to chill out and stop taking every hapless al Qaeda operative who gives you a quote or a picture so damned seriously."
Just look at how happy the kids are - via Tim Blair.
We were out on a mission when Z-man went to the Big Jihad in the Sky. Pulled into a village to do a hearts and minds (and intel) gig, and were instantly surrounded by dozens of kids. That’s common, but the kids saying “Mister, mister! Zarqawi! Zarqawi!” and pulling their index fingers across their throats most certainly is not.

OMG. You are so nutz and "SAME"
I think most of us saw this take on the pigs death coming.
GOD BLESS OUR MILITARY MEN AND WOMEN and the intelligence shared through out the world in the WOT.

Now that whole read was just fun. Damn I wish we'd had some last words as that animal realized he was done for. At least a picture of some American Jewish kid with a chain saw standing over the carcass. Of course we knew the left were coming to mock the event.

Why does CBS run with that headline and story when inside the story itself they say the man's claim could not be independently verified. Isn't one of the main principles of journalism to at least get a second source for verification. Whose side is CBS on, I can't believe they run a story like that. Man, I can not stand those bastards.

" At least a picture of some American Jewish kid with a chain saw standing over the carcass. "
ha ha ha ha.... Perfect. Now why couldn't the military PR machine have managed that? Ha. Ha. Ha. That would make some fine fodder for CBS.... 'The Pentagon has decided it will no longer give a rat's ass about winning hearts and minds because it doesn't work. Thank you, MSM, you sumbitches. From now on, said Pentagon spokesman, Don Rumsfeld, a former Jew who is now born-again, we are through with political correctness and kowtowing to simpletons. Up yours.'
They really should do that. It would take away all the MSM's fun and make them depressed.
