There's Something About Arlen

Though you might not know it if you aren't from New Jersey, you never trust a politician from Philadelphia, especially one with a bad hair piece. They have a way of coming up with all sorts of crazy ideas.

There was only one way the evidence could show that Lee Harvey Oswald had acted alone in killing Kennedy, and that was Specter's "magic bullet" theory.

And they have no problem stabbing you in the back.

During his race for a historic fifth term as senator, Specter faced a bruising primary fight that pitted him against U.S. Rep. Pat Toomey, who ran accusing Specter of being too liberal for most of Pennsylvania. It took a last-minute push by President Bush and others for Specter to narrowly win the Republican nomination. He would later cruise to reelection.

WASHINGTON -- The chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, accusing the White House of a ''very blatant encroachment" on congressional authority, said yesterday he will hold an oversight hearing into President Bush's assertion that he has the power to bypass more than 750 laws enacted over the past five years.

''There is some need for some oversight by Congress to assert its authority here," Arlen Specter, Republican of Pennsylvania, said in an interview. ''What's the point of having a statute if . . . the president can cherry-pick what he likes and what he doesn't like?"

I applaud Arlen Spector's plan in this investigation and you should too. It means that perhaps the long five year old national nightmare of the Bush presidency may finally be coming to an end. If you support Bush's right to ignore all laws that he does not like then you do not believe in America. This post was appalling in its ignorance. For shame.
