That didn't take long. The Democrat Party puts out talking points about bringing religion into the mix - and lo and behold, the Washington Post is happy to oblige by pronouncing it done. This is so transparent.
The religious left is back.
Long overshadowed by the Christian right, religious liberals across a wide swath of denominations are engaged today in their most intensive bout of political organizing and alliance-building since the civil rights and anti-Vietnam War movements of the 1960s, according to scholars, politicians and clergy members.
The liberal media runs around like trained dogs on a leash with this sort of thing. If the religious Left were back, one wouldn't need scholars and politicians to pronounce it so. The following statement is simply proof that this has nothing to do with Religion, at least not primarily. It's political calculation and ultimately unsustainable as a genuine religious movement fostered from the ground up.
In large part, the revival of the religious left is a reaction against conservatives' success in the 2004 elections
This ship will crash upon the rocks of almost every major issue it eventually confronts.
Conservative Christian activist Gary L. Bauer said the religious left "is getting more media attention" but "it's not clear" that it is getting more organized.
"My reaction is 'Come on in, the water's fine' . . . but I think that when you look at frequent church attenders in America, they tend to be pro-life and support marriage as one man and one woman, and so I think the religious left is going to have a hard time making any significant progress" with those voters, he said.
See Carol Platt Liebau for more.

They may be able to pull back a few Democratic voters with religous sensibilities that have drifted away from the party in recent years, as the Donkeys completely abandoned, no spurned, religion. As so many elections have been hotly contested in recent years, it would only take a few votes to cause problems in many races. Let us hope that voters can see through the charade

It started with that ad campaign about Global Warming.
Preachers against Global Warming and 'stewardship of the Earth' for God blah blah blah.
I had a thought yesterday Dan,
We both know there's a damned good chance the Left is going to regain some if not most of their lost power in the next few years.
And we both know that will result in mayhem and an even more cohesive Right to vote them out once more.
Probably for a good long time.
But here's the question amigo ...
Do you REALLY think they will let loose of power AGAIN?
Personally, I do not think they will allow it under ANY circumstance.
The Constitution has never stopped them. Morality has never swayed them. Logic and reason are nothing to them. Right/wrong? Don't make me laugh.
Nope, the Left will NEVER give up power again if they obtain it.
Not no how - not no way.

Seems like their is a certain segment of the population that is always going to blame the government for their problems. Whichever party is in power is going to blamed for whatever problem these people think they have.
If the 90's were not good for you, blame Clinton. If the last 6 years have not been good for you, Blame Bush. Chances are no matter who was in office the lives of these people would have sucked, but they need to blame someone. This may not be a large segment of the population but it seems to be enough people to swing elections. Sometimes trying to rationally predict irrational behavior does not work and this may be one of those occasions.

Steel, aren't we watching the current administration ignore the Constitution, logic and reason?
