Former NJ Gov. Jim McGreevey should not be allowed to get away with this one.
May 22, 2006 -- Jim McGreevey shockingly admits that before he became governor of New Jersey, he'd have anonymous gay sex at Garden State highway rest stops.
"All I knew was that my behavior was getting crazier and crazier," McGreevey says of his torrid truck-stop trysts in an upcoming book that details his tortured life of lies and sexual repression.
He'd like to play the victim of some long suffering road of closeted homosexuality which led to his particular perverted version of nuzzling truck driver's babies at Parkway rest stops and in filthy johns. But that isn't the truth.
The truth is his antics were well known throughout press and political circles in NJ. They were covered up. At least they were until he was finally forced to look for a way out because his corrupt administration was about to come crashing down around him. And let us not forget that post 9/11 he appointed an Israeli he liked to gnosh on to head the State's Homeland Security department despite his lack of qualifications. What an absolute disgrace. And now to attempt his rehabilitation and pocket more coin, he wrote a book of his pathetic journey.
We should honor him by drilling waist high holes in the stalls of the men's rooms at some Parkway rest stop and call it the McGreevey Memorial Servicing Area. With this sad character, there's every chance he'll likely find his way back. The holes should make him feel right at home, as long as he doesn't force his wife, children and family to be there like he did for effect when he resigned.

Dan,
Your are 100% correct. As a broadcaster we all joked about the tourism commercial showing McGrabass and his wife walking the boardwalk in NJ inviting tourism. The joke was, if you think McGreevey is walking with his wife you are lost, etc.
The third rail in broadcasting, in Metro New York, (includes Jersey) is that you don't talk about celebrity and politicians and their homosexual relationsships. If he had had and affair with another woman that would be news, but NO ONE from New York to south Philly was going on the record about the good governor and his homo relationship. They took the scandal of his administration to blackmail him. INcidently, it is generally believed that Mrs McGreevey was given shall we say "a deal" to stand by her man for the "Outing". Terms of course are undisclosed, but the rumour mill says she is extremly happy.

Dan,
Sometimes a ray of humor breaks through you typically cranky prose and I laugh. Servicing Area indeed!

The NJ Constitution explicitly forbids both gays, and doubly so closeted gays, and triply so those who engage in risky sexual behavior.
Corrupt administration collapsing about his head? You must be thinking of the Whitman administration. I haven't lived in New Jersey for, oh, 20 years, now, but I remember the stories of how they found the books after Whitman left.
