Main Reserve To Iraq

I'm glad to see this. Hopefully it's a sign that we're going to worry less about our footprint in Iraq and more about what it might take to stomp out the terrorists in Western Iraq.

If you read the full story, you'll see that the tribal leaders don't want to tolerate Zarqawi but his men display no problem in killing anyone who co-operates with American forces.

While we want to turn things over to the Iraqis as early as possible, it's foolish to think the continued violence isn't slowing that down.

BAGHDAD, May 29 -- The U.S. military said Monday it was deploying the main reserve fighting force for Iraq, a full 3,500-member armored brigade, as emergency reinforcements for the embattled western province of Anbar, where a surge of violence linked to the insurgent group al-Qaeda in Iraq has severely damaged efforts to turn Sunni Arab tribal leaders against the insurgency.

The insurgents have assassinated 11 tribal leaders in the Ramadi area since the end of last year, when Sunni sheiks in the city began open cooperation with the U.S. military. That alliance was heralded by U.S. commanders as a sign of a major split between Sunni insurgents and the larger Sunni community of western Iraq.

Update: The way the Left wants us to lose so badly is pathetic

The Haditha "unpleasantness" is probably more of an issue in Iraq than in the U.S. where we can scarely get off the couch to get exercised about torture, a fake war, or the slow-motion erosion of our civil liberties much less killing a few more Iraqis. Perhaps Dan would like to go over to Iraq and explain to the people of Haditha that the, and we'll insert "alleged", slaughter is within an acceptable tolerance if compared to the U.S. murder rates and, even if we did invade their country and destroyed their economy and infrastructure, they should be happy that they're not living in Detroit. I know I am.

The moron could read the story above to see how much the Iraqis still want us there. Or they could see the good things which have happened before and since in Haditha. But they'd rather ignore how people starved under Saddam Hussein, assuming they weren't executed, because it's all about hating Bush.

The Left has nothing to offer America, or Iraq.

Zarqawi must still be dealt with, no matter what other progress. The guy has such power that when he was confronted recently by the current Iraqi leadership, he ordered seven (7) tribal sheiks killed. Orders were carried out in less then 24 hours, almost simultaneously. Neutralize (as in kill) him and Al-Sadr and things may cool down a bit.

Does sending in more troops mean we're winning? I assume we're winning because that's what Bush & Rummy keep telling us. They're right, right?

Dan, why waste pixels dealing with TBogg. That's not even his real name. Actually, it's APrick.

He gets his stones off picking fights with Right Wing bloggers in the hopes that it will land some attention.

Keep on rockin'

Yes Dan. We have made Iraq a friggin' paradise, if your idea of paradise is a destroyed infrastructure and economy, and unleashing tribal warfare.

Coming soon: Water! Electricity! Mission Accomplished!
