Orenjadgt Aruba...Aruban Law Enforecment today announed they have arrested Joran Van Der Sloots School teacher and a former Nanny of JVS. ALE said "they too, once knew JVS" and that is grounds for arrest in the disappearance of NH. Meanwhile, JVS too younger brothers have retained legal counsel to renounce that they ever "knew" JVS. Said a spokesman for the brothers, "Yes they lived and grew up in the same house, but NO, they actually did NOT know each other, strange as it sound."
Aruban authorities have also set up a hot line where you can call one of two phone numbers. One number if you KNOW JVS, one number if you don't. No word on which hot line is being used the most.
Finally tourism continues to plumment on the small self governed proterctorate of Holland. ALE denies any connection with their inabilithy to solve the case of the missing Alabama teen. They are however looking to find someone else to arrest, just to keep the ARuba name in the press as popularity falls for this tiny island nation
Who is Greta to say the arrest was ridiculous? She continues to think she knows something about this case but she's just as clueless as everybody else. Greta lost all credibility in my mind when she refused to ask Joran the hard and important follow up questions during their interview. Greta's voice does not dictate what others think and feel in this case.
Friday Twitty said, "I would like to apologize to the Aruban people and to the Aruban authorities if I or my family offended you in any way. I realize that the Aruban legal system abides by the presumption of innocence and I want to reassure everyone that I do respect the Aruban legal system."
Shouldn't we all respect Beth's wishes and presume innocence?
"The statements I made on July 5th were fueled by despair and frustration because of still not knowing where my daughter is," Beth Holloway Twitty said in a statement to the media. "I think everyone, everyone can sympathize with that."
The sympathy ends when the three amigos come out with a consistent story on the major items the night NH disappeared...let's start with a simple one...how did Joran get home?
kaycee, with all due respect, Beth's "apology" was made nearly a year ago. It didn't take long before Beth was back on television making the same accusations. She has always accused van der Sloot, even advancing a civil suit which mirrors her certainty that JVS is guilty.
It's not beyond the pale for a distraught mother to have strong beliefs, or express them. Greta, and the other pseudo info-tainment news and legal shows on cable are to blame for making her a star, based on the tabloid elements of what she privately fears and believes about her daughter's disappearance or murder.
If you ask Chandra Levy's mother, Gary Condit killed, or conspired to kill, her daughter. The difference is that she didn't become a media star, or featured nightly, prodded to express her passionate mother's point of view, every night. Even with a modicum of restraint towards an ex-congressman, Condit's life was utterly ruined. In the matter of trashing the life of an 18 year old boy, no standards of decency were applied in assuming his innocence. He has a bounty on his head, dead or deader. That is an abomination in my eyes.
It's the disreputable ex-lawyers, like Greta, Nancy Grace, Joe Scarborough, and Dan Abrams, holding kangaroo courts on television, who are to blame for this lynching circus. Maybe Joran is guilty, maybe he's innocent, but, he's certainly been convicted in the court of popular opinion based on Beth's words, and the unfathomably evil, self-serving hosts of these psuedo-legal cable shows, who have promoted the new standard of guilty until proven innocent, in America.
kaycee, it's funny about the Duke boys. Dan, a Duke alumnus, is hilariously pro-defense, and Greta holds her mock court of talking heads, who mutter, "These boys are innocent until proven guilty..."
Mind you, I'm not sure about their innocence, or guilt. I can see how either scenario happened, but, you're so right. In the case of privileged white boys, they are given the media's benefit of doubt. There's a clear double-standard to how they've persecuted Aruba`````````````````````

who and the $%@$#% are you people to tell Beth how to respond in the search for her daughter. She doesn't think she's a star and she's never asked to be one. The fact of the matter is that she has more heart and fight then you'll ever know. She's a very smart lady and your blind if you can't see that. She knows she can use the media to help her fight against the basic of injustices against her daughter in a place who turns an eye to everything wrong that goes on there just to earn a buck and mostly American ones at that. She has chosen to stand and fight, while losers like you who cower behind a computer screen and call her things you wouldn't call your mothers and probably most of your enemies. The majority of you cowards have never gone through what she is going through, none of you can imagine her pain yet you throw stones at her? You wouldn't do the same thing? You would be a coward and accept it as just being so, not ever knowing? You're a sick f'er if that's the case. She's free to cast her suspicions as to who did it. She's never completely said Joran killed her, but she has suspicions and she has a right to those. Who are you people to judge?
indianaredneck - keep fighting the good fight. don't let these cowards who wouldn't say the things they say about Beth to her face in the presence of her brother and husband, bring you down. They offer nothing.

Hi kc,
I think the only reason Beth made this apology was because Van der straaten said he would close the investigation if she didn't back off. I bet today she feels different about it.
He looks like a pillow biter, perhaps his buddy Joran swings both ways and who cares how Beth feels? It basically boils down to it's none of your *&)& business how she feels really!

You really ought to clean up this site. I can't believe the American reasoning, or lack of it.
Who the hell cares who is gay! This has nothing to do with anything except amuse small minds.
From my knowledge of gay people that I have come across in my work, etc, I have found that gay males are very beautiful-hearted. The majority of them are very mild mannered, thoughtful, loving decent people. Their orientation should have no bearing on anything.
On the other hand, I have found female gays to have come across as hard, abrasive and loud.
If these two fellows are or aren't, I don't really care, but they do portray an air of tenderness that seems very real to me.

Are you saying Dan is unreasonable? The reference to the young mans sexual orientation came from the mouth of his own attorney. Why was this pertinent to the case?
Alastair Wanklyn of Fox just mentioned that the lawyer for Guido Wever said that Guido is gay. Is that a new type of defense?
