That's it. I've had enough. My sense of Hastert is that he knows less about the Constitution than he does the back of the menu at a Taco Bell.
House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.) told President Bush yesterday that he is concerned the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) raid on Rep. William Jefferson’s (D-La.) congressional office over the weekend was a direct violation of the Constitution.
Calling the Saturday-night raid an “invasion of the legislative branch,” House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) predicted the case would eventually be resolved in the Supreme Court and hinted that Congress would take further action. The majority leader said Hastert would take the lead on the issue because he is the chief constitutional officer in the House.
And this other idiot is just as bad. Looks at this:
During his own briefing, Boehner joked with reporters that he was withholding his own strong reservations about the raid because of a staff request that he do so.
“I would like to say more, but I have been advised by my advisers that I shouldn't’t,” Boehner said.
I've been advised by my advisers ha ha You moron. If you had a brain you wouldn't need so many advisers we have to pay for. Get out!
And another one chimes in:
“No member of Congress is above the law,” House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) told reporters yesterday. “I am concerned about the unprecedented exercising of authority over a separate branch of government and the execution of a search warrant without any communication with the leadership of this House.”
Oh, of course not. But there's nothing such as Executive privilege when you sit on your fat asses and investigate a judicial appointee, or a Cheney conference on energy.
Now, the Executive Branch is after one of your crooks (not party, I mean branch) and suddenly you discover your principles?
What are they afraid of? Someone looking at how much they have stashed in their fridge. Okay, except for Hastert. I doubt anything lasts too long in his.
If some of the blogging Repologists want to keep on about moderation and working together to sort it out, they can stuff it. We should turn the whole place over and enact term limits. I've had enough of this circus on both sides of the aisle.
Too few are worthy of the public trust. The House leadership is probably looking for leverage on the immigration front and I'm sick of the disingenuous nature they go about everything anymore. Why support the GOP if they can't support themselves, at least long enough to stop grandstanding every issue. And that's precisely what I see Hastert and Boehner doing here. Distancing themselves from Bush for re-election and protecting their own political class. If Bush's numbers were up you would never be reading this story.
Get 'em out! Hear! Hear!

Yo Quiero Taco Bell.

Taco Bell is queer? I thought so lol.
When you look at the recent polls, Bush has a much higher standing than those in the House. Term limits are in order.

"Term limits are in order"
No a whole new government is in order. One like the father of the republican party talked about. "By the people, for the people" Of course....he's also the one who suspended habeus corpus...and started a war on his own people.
