Did it pique your interest upon hearing that large corporations like Tyson Foods were closing today as a number of their employees would apparently be taking part in the now infamous demonstrations?
Some companies, expecting many workers to participate in the rallies, closed today. Springdale, Arkansas-based Tyson Foods Inc., the world's largest meat producer, shut nine U.S. beef plants and four pork plants to allow employees to demonstrate. Wayzata, Minnesota-based Cargill Inc., the second-largest beef packer, and Greeley, Colorado-based Swift & Co., the third- biggest beef and pork producer, also will close plants.
Certainly I'm not suggesting Tyson employs illegal immigrants. But wouldn't such a sign give ICE pause, perhaps enough to want to investigate a little more deeply? I am not suggesting this is a Democrat or Republican issue. But I went to the FEC site and decided to see what Tyson has been doing in recent years just for Arkansas's Senate and House members. Something tells me, regardless of the signals, Tyson likely won't be getting a visit from ICE anytime soon. Call it a hunch.
If I understand it correctly, between individual contributions and TYPAC, Tyson has given over $100,000 to Arkansas Senators and Representatives in recent years. And I have no doubt their political generousity doesn't end there. The food business must be doing very well for Tysons. You could probably employ an awful lot of illegal immigrants with dollars like that.
It appears the donation pattern has been growing, especially recently. I wonder why?
Sen. Blanche Lincoln D Tyson Individuals $16,000 TYPAC $19,500
Sen. Mark Pryor D Tyson Individuals $6,000 TYPAC $8,000
Rep. Marion Berry D Tyson Individuals $4,500 TYPAC $15,000
Rep. John Boozman R Tyson Individuals $6,000 TYPAC $15,500
Rep. Mike Ross D Tyson Individuals $6,000 TYPAC $12,500
Rep. Victor Snyder D Tyson Individuals $8,500 TYPAC $2,000

It is human instinct to want a better life. And if I were born south of the border, I'd be packing my kids in the trunk of a car for sure! However, once here you have to abide by the laws of THIS land. Speak our language, pay our taxes, be documented..I have no problem with that. Here is a possible plan: Fine a corporation $10,000 for every illegal alien. What good are our laws if we throw our hands up in the air and say: "What can be done? There are too many?" Make corporations be responsible for each of them. Corporations can help illegals obtain citizenship, or be fined if they employ those who aren't. Why should corporate America be allowed to exploit a group of people? I am tired of living in America...Land of laws for some and not for all...Let's get our country back!

Not much on my mind right now. I haven't been up to anything. Today was a complete loss. That's how it is. Not much exciting going on these days.

I can't be bothered with anything recently. I've just been sitting around doing nothing. Today was a loss. I just don't have much to say. Nothing seems worth thinking about.
