Wade M. Lurk, 17, was last seen sleeping in his car around 4:30 a.m. Saturday at Goose Creek, a campsite near the border of Ste. Genevieve and St. Francois counties, where he had been attending a party, according to Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff Gary Stolzer.

I saw a photo of this missing young man - what a doll. His poor family! What is going on in this horrible world? I live in NJ and we are still wondering about missing 19 yr old College of NJ student John F___(forget his last name)...he's been missing for 2 weeks. I hope it was an accident and not foul play. Pray for the families of these 2 handsome young men.

If there is alcohol and a lake nearby then it sounds like a disasterous combination. Depends how drunk he was, but driving with any amount of alcohol is not good news.
I really hope and pray they find him soon though, his parents must be going out of their minds.

That's the thing about these missing kid stories... Can you even imagine being the parent - not knowing?
I'd have to knocked out and waked up after it was over. I can't stand the thought of being awake while I'm dying.

The weird thing about this is that the car is missing, hope they find him safe and sound and soon. Prayers to the family.

I am Wade's uncle. I just stumbled across your blog so I thought I would send an update.
Its day 10 since Wade disappeared. Our family is devastated to say the least. It has been an emotional rollercoaster. We do not know how to feel. One moment we weep thinking he is dead. This suddenly turns to horror thinking someone may be holding him. As we lie down at night and try to steal a few hours sleep, the guilt sets in as we wonder if he’s pinned inside his car somewhere unable to make contact with anyone who can help. We worry that he may be freezing or in pain as dehydration slowly pulls life from him.
Over the past 10 days we’ve searched literally every foot of ground between Goose Creek and his home in Ste. Genevieve, MO. I am overcome with emotions each time we ask for volunteers to help, again, to search the same ditches, roads, abandoned buildings and lots. Literally hundreds show up each time. We are truly blessed.
We have no clues as to his whereabouts. We pray that someone will stumble across his car, or if someone is holding him, that someone will do the right thing and report something to the authorities to help us get him home.
Please keep your eyes and ears alert as you travel the dangerous roads of life out there. Pray for Wade, his parents and grandparents. This has taken a tremendous toll on all of us.

I leared of Wade's dissapearance on TV. Then a co-worker of mine sent a link to a fact sheet. She lives in Ste. Gen and her husband is a sports coach of some kind and knows Wade. I have been keeping Wade in my prayers ever since. I am a new mother (my son is 9 months old) and I can not imagine what the family is going through. I pray that God watches over you all and comforts you through this difficult time. I hope that Wade is found safe and well.
