And evidently they didn't like what they saw. It's always a gamble when this or that pundit, including me, says our politicians or the MSM are out of step with America. FAce it, we don't have polling data. But often the poling data comes in and confirms. I think that's because bloggers in general are simply more of the people than the MSM, or the politicians, unforutnately.
Asked whether the protests have made likely voters more or less sympathetic toward undocumented workers, 61 percent said they're less likely to be sympathetic to the plight of illegals as a result of the protests, while only 32 percent of respondents said they're now more sympathetic.

Count me in the 61% column.

The wrong question was asked. How about thoroughly pissed off about the protests.

my legal columbian co worker and her legal ecuadorian husband are both aggravated at the notion of offering citizenship to all the illegal aliens.
Workers permit ok, not citizenship=voting rights.

Too bad some people don't like the idea of others protesting an issue. In my opinion, it was a pretty decent way to put the subject in the public forum. Hope they will recall that no cars, homes or businesses were torched. Speaking only of the illegals who come here to work, the central theme is survival. Believe it or not, there is a hierarchy of wages in Mexico that drives many of those who come here to cross over illegally, i.e., Guatemalans will work cheaper than some Mexicans in their own country. I admit to leaning a bit to the sympathetic end of the stick on their behalf because I have seen firsthand where they have come from and how hard they work. Nonetheless, I continue to have a problem with the 'line jumping', because there are others who have tried to make the journey through the normal channels. One of the big gripes some people have is the mistaken idea that they don't pay taxes and I know that isn't true in most cases. Some of the largest employers are Wal Mart and Tyson, and wages are reported and taxes deducted. Yes, there are lots of day laborers, but on the whole, few compared to those who are in the economy at the very bottom rung of the ladder.
Just my thoughts; sorry, no solution yet.

Most of the protesters at these rallies are probably illegals. I say, go to the rallies, round em up, and get em out of here!! AMERICA, LOVE IT or LEAVE IT!!
