From a Left wing blog. There are no other words to describe it. It's amazing that someone can spew such ignorant hatred of any subset of humanity on a blog and then in the same graph switch to some equally misguided noble sense of himself and his writing.
Outside the shrinking circle of the shrieking, unhinged left, passages precisely like the following discredit blogs and blogging for all. It reads like the work of someone who needs to up their meds. Maybe he works for the McKinney campaign on the side.
Right-wingers tend to hate a free media. Right-wingers tend to say creepy and racist things. Right-wingers tend to hate reporters who say that all isn't apple pie in Iraq. This is true on the AM talk radio circuit, at the RNC, in the Oval Office, and on right-wing blogs. I mean the GOP.com blog even has a tag 'good news from Iraq'.
This has NOTHING to do with blogs. Zero. This has to do with a flat-out racist and warmongering right-wing movement that doesn't like a woman whose survival cuts against their narrative. So please stop lumping progressives like me in with the right-wing just because we both use a similar web-based publishing platform.

He and McKinney came from the same piece of cloth.

What I can't figure out is why he throws the racism charge in each of the three paragraphs, despite the rather obvious fact that there's no racial angle to the Jill Carroll story. Just knee-jerk?

Just out of curiosity, which bit do you think is the crazy part?
Just to start with the easy stuff, "Right-wingers tend to hate reporters who say that all isn't apple pie in Iraq" is unarguably true. Most of y'all would proudly agree, no? Are you denying this just because a lefty wrote it?

"Right-wingers tend to hate reporters who say that all isn't apple pie in Iraq"
I disagree. It is about balanced reporting, not all good or all bad. And much of the reporting has not been balanced.

Dan
I am conerned about who is in the drivers seat of doing the balancing.

You're not even attempting 'balancing' when you're caught up in a high tide of generalization.
That's what that piece was. Complete generalization. He lost his argument before he finished his first paragraph.
