Well, they aren't the first to think it ... and be wrong. The Tripp / Jones bit was about the coverage, as stated here. Interesting that they picked out that irrelevant bit and ignored all the solid arguments to which I linked.
My piece was about where the Left finds itself today, I didn't even enter the argument they claim I lost. They ignored the substantive arguments at QandO and NRO, dismissing everyhing as just Bush Bitter End-syndrome without even reading it.
And Bush syndrome isn't something from which I suffer. I always liked Bush a great deal but I'm terribly disappointed with him on immigration - the real issue of the day. Why aren't any of the Liberals taking that on, I wonder?
Speaking of the VRWC, the Bush Bitter Enders are working overtime to crank out excuses. I haven’t surveyed the entire Right Blogosphere, but the dumbest excuse I’ve seen so far comes from Riehl World View. Truly, the Riehl post is a study in pathological denial, but the best part is from this old NewsMax post about alleged Clinton Administration leaks about Paula Jones and Linda Tripp! Yes, bless us, the Clinton did it too dodge! And, of course, discrediting Linda Tripp about a BJ is so much more significant than spreading disinformation about national security intelligence and a war that is tearing the nation apart. Oh, wait …

RE: "Why aren't any of the Liberals taking that on, I wonder?"
The Democrats are not interested in taking it on. The party caters to the liberal educated professional who are indifferent to the low-wage American laborers who are hurt by illegal workers. If the Democratic Party was the "workers party" they would be the first to champion a secure border and criminal penalties for companies that hire illegal workers. Likewise, they would be pushing for import taxes, "You want a slice of our market? Make it here." The Democratic Party has lost it's way and runs on little more than a hodgpodge of "progressive" social issues and offers little for the average American worker.
