Natalee Holloway - Room Key Controversy

Appearing On The Record tonight with Greta Van Sustern, Van Der Sloot attorney Joe Tacopina insisted that hotel records showed the precise room key that Natalee Holloway was given was used in her hotel room a few times early in the morning after her disappearance - at 3:22 and 3:26 AM.

It's possible this was the reason for checking DNA on a toothbrush early in the investigation. It is also possible that though there may have been individually coded keys, a roommate actually used the one initially given to Natalee at check-in.

More information would have to be known to conclude the key was used either by Natalee, or someone who took it from her. If other early reports suggest her roomates were down at the pool, it would be interesting to note that ealier speculation held that one of the two security guards arrested was said to have items possibly stolen from tourists in his possession.

Unfortunately, none of this is presently confirmed.

The key in question was also used at 1:26 A.M. That would seem to negate Natalee having used the key as she would have left the bar in Deepak's car only moments earlier. Greta mentioned that the 1:26 A.M use had soured her on the significance of the two later uses. However, in the same segment Tacopina mentioned that he had somebody on tape saying they saw Natalee in her room AFTER 3:00 A.M. and that this person is known to Aruban law enforcement. He also mentioned that in the transcripts of the early interrogations of the main suspects, which he had to sue in court to get from the Aruban LE by the way, there were numerous leads that ALE could or should be following up on. I got the idea from Tacopina's tone that he didn't think much if any of these leads were properly followed up on or investigated. If the civil case against Joran should get that far Tacopina could use this to raise serious doubts about any culpability Joran may have by laying out all the possibilities that have not been properly investigated by ALE.

As an aside I find it somewhat humerous that Joe Tacopina has managed to get himself ensconced smack in the middle of the biggest missing person case since Lindbergh's son. What kind of a name is Tacopina anyway, it sounds like a drink you would order in Cancun or maybe Tijuana.

Joe Tacopina is a good Italian name. However, from this case forward he will always be known as
Taco Joe, nothing derogatory intended, but blog typing requires speed, and maybe he can be called JT, just like we have shortened references to John Q. Kelly by calling him JQK, and i would prefer just referring to the attorneys as JQ and JT in order to lessen the typing load.

What is noted, it that if the use of electronic key cards in a multi-guest room involving the comings and going of teenagers is going to be his opening blockbuster revelation in this case, it shows that he does not have much right now, and the "tell" on that, is jumping on the "beat up Dompig wagon" as a way to let him flap his gums with Greta, IMO.

The American media jumped on an all out hunt for Joran. Weekly photographs and old video of the Dutchman filled the American news shows. He is called a liar, a rapist, and an assassin. Joran's possible involvement in Natalee's disappearance proves to be a ratings hit. In one go the seventeen-year-old adolescent is world-famous. Who he is and from what kind of a nest he comes, is well known. Dave Holloway already discusses this in his book and discounts what that idiot Joe T says. The guy is a buffoon. He stated that an exact key was given to Natalee....what a reach....all hotel keys look the same and there is no way in telling who had whose room key. He also contradicted himself in stating that video surveillance didn't show anyone entering that room at the stated time. The guy is desperately seeking attention for himself and trying to make as much money as possible from this case. His ONLY job is to make sure the civil suit is thrown out in NY. He has no business delving his sorry ass into this case.

I thought that for a while as well, and I don't totally discount it, but I've come to think that the Arubans are just too stupid and inept to be able to cover up some kind of mammoth porn/rape party ring type of thing.

Even the Dutch are now publicly criticizing Dompig and the investigation, saying it was "strange" and how odd it is to fail to act on tips about a body location right away...

So, I have come back to the idea that a few people did help VDS, including at least one of the judges, Smid, but that what Aruba is doing now is just massive damage control and trying to keep that truth hidden, that need combined with their ongoing inability/refusal to recognize just how bad at police work they are has created this nightmare.

I don't believe they are smart enough to pull off a cover up of anything really important....

Again, you WOULD THINK that the ALE would have definitively determine whether or not this guy is VDS and that all parties would have been informed so that Kelly wouldn't need to be speculating, but of course that would entail some basic police work, like asking the suspects and witnesses to ID the guy, and ya know, what with all of his media appearances and his meticulous planning for his dune search he must not have time.

There are no FREE Texas-Hold'em Tournaments in the Holiday Inn Excelsior Casino, as Joran stated. In fact, the tournaments have $25 buy-ins. The Tournament on Sunday's starts at 4:00 pm, and you cannot substitute players at any time.

Joran stated that he and his father were there together at this tournament and Paulus had to go home because his little brother was home alone Joran then stated he took his father's spot in the tournament, which would be considered 'substituting players' and that is obviously against tournament rules.

At Scrux, they have ( I don't know where they get these things ) they have many emails to and from friends discussing what the situation was outside C & C's, and the last time she spoke to Natalee and just how quickly Natalee
must have been hustled off into the car.

Deepak said that he was parked in the back of C & C's, no other cars. He left when they announced the last call for drinks and went to the car by himself. He even had the door open, so he says.

There was quite a crowd waiting for taxi's and Joran and Natalee were standing together. Alana understood that Natalee was going with the other group back to the Holiday Inn. Natalee never expressed any other intent.

Alana has never waivered in what she has said.
She sounds like a straight arrow kind of girl and she is credible to me.

There is a part of that night that I can't confirm :
That is the part about some of Natalee's friends seeing her in the car going in a northery direction and telling her to get out of the car.

Deepak's emails to a friend are a repeat of the HI lie, but one thing that he mentions is that he NEVER STOPPED the car after they got going. There was a story that he made a stop at Moomba's ? Why would this insignificant little detail be so important to Deepak that he has to affirm it ?

The more I dig around and read, the more I believe that they had a plan for Natalee
( or any other girl ). Both Joran and Deepak say that they had done this many times before
and nothing had happened.

Did Anita really think that they were making sure that the tourist girls got back to their hotels safely ? Anita must be looking at Joran as maybe he was when he was five years old and still a baby.

Jackson 80 , I agree with you about the Twitties and the rest of the family reaching this point ages ago. The only hope is for more people from the ALE to go on " vacation " and let Holland take over.

The Refugees and their ilk are so full of hate and jealousy that they don't care about the truth AT ALL, they want it to be Natalee's fault, Beth's fault, Mountain Brook's fault. They can't stand the idea that there are actually nice, good looking affluent people who become victims of tragedy....sooo, they had to turn Natalee into a drunken drugged up tramp, all of her friends into horrible, drunken, drugged up liars and tramps and thugs and her entire family into horrible people out for money and fame who should be sued into bankruptcy....

They are all contemptable.

I went to refugess and freedom of blog and I won't even go there to read. I bookmarked Moonshadows story and that is about the only thing I would go back there for. But I can just look at the little story and ignore the rest.

It is pretty evil and I am glad that I don't know any of those posters. This blog has a more balanced view and I do post once in a while over at SM, but not more than five - six times.

Jackson 80 , I agree with you about the Twitties and the rest of the family reaching this point ages ago. The only hope is for more people from the ALE to go on " vacation " and let Holland take over.

I get angry about his case. Imagine what the family is going thru.

if you recall, that is what the Twittys asked for prior to the boycott because they erroneously assumed that the Dutch were operating in good faith. The Twittys asked for a meeting and a new investigative team and a new prosecutor. When the Dutch didnt budge, that was the test to show that the whole deal was in bad faith so then they asked for the boycott, hired an attorney and let the chips fall where they may.

Now we have Taco Joe dissing Dompig, so, to me, Taco Joe is saying the same thing the Twittys said about the investigation and Taco Joe is actually supporting the Twittys position on ALE activities. IMO

it wasnt until Joran came on Greta and every lie led away from the beach that the great sleuths and dick tracys here on this blog began to understand that the beach story was just a story. i will never get over all the wasted effort by people here talking about how dark the beach was, and how close the water was to the beach, and whether the beach was sand, or sand or rocks...........No Bleep Sherlocks, they never went to the beach.................that nite.
