Dan at No Speed Bumps always comes up with good stuff. See this on the Demcorats and Immigration. Democrats will sell out the working man and lower wage earners to accomodate more open immigration policy.
With interest groups allied with the Democrats making competing demands, many Democrats in Congress must sometimes feel confused. Nowhere is this more evident than in the immigration debate. On one hand, the gut response of most Democrats is to welcome Hispanic illegal workers, as Hispanic advocacy groups demand, and resist substantial new measures to stem the flow of illegal people crossing the southern border. But this directly conflicts with the interests of the core group whom Democrats have historically tried to loyally represent: The American working class.
On the same timely topic, this from Jack Lewis:
The following has been proposed as a reasonable method of managing not only illegal immigration but legal immigrants. See how many you agree with, and how many you'd be comfortable with being imposed...
Foreigners may not in any way participate in the political affairs of the country. This ban applies, among other things, to participation in demonstrations and the expression of opinions in public about domestic politics.
Equal employment rights are denied to immigrants, even legal ones, even those with green cards.
Only citizens may serve in the military as officers, on airline crews, and chiefs of seaports and airports.

Mrs. Levy must be sucking her thumb not to have responded to this one. All listed in Jack Lewis's blog sound fine to me.
