Media Matters and several liberal blogs are all abuzz over President Bush declassifying certain documents by Executive Order in the Libby affair. They are especially taking out after Brit Hume for not questioning it.
Ensor, Hume accepted without question claim that Bush's NIE "declassification" was legal
Perhaps they missed it when:
An executive order signed in early November by President Clinton has triggered the declassification of 43.9 million government records in the largest single declassification action ever, according to the Secrecy & Government Bulletin, a publication of the Washington, D.C.-based Federation of American Scientists.
In any event, I couldn't seem to find anyone questioning it. Also see Just One Minute for more.

I watched Brit this afternoon talking to that afternoon show. They were talking about this, and FOX put up a banner about Bush giving secrets to Libbey...something like that. Brit got really mad at Julia about the details of executive privilege, and then got 'real' mad about the banner and POOF....that thing was gone. It was great.
I love Brit. But Charles Krauthammer best.

The MSM comes out with the headlind "Bush Authorizes Leak" -- more than a bit misleading, and the dems jump on it without bothering to read Libby's actual comments. Declassifying documents is NOT leaking!!
And still no word on who disclosed Plame's name, still no word on whether she was a covert op from Fitz. But let the obfuscation continue..
