Just your typical brown shirt tactic of a government official attempting to use governmental authority to intimidate. This episode couldn't be more disgusting thanks to McKinney and her posse. Yes, Glover and Belafonte can't resist the chance to jump on the bandwagon with any passing black, race baiting politician. I say, bring it on.
I hope this thing doesn't get swept under the rug. It would be a perfect opportunity to expose the morally corrupt movement which tries to pass itself off as civil rights. It has nothing to do with rights and everything to do with entitlement and a repulsively mis-guided sense of privilege.
Uber-liberal black leaders think they are above the law, attempting to rationalize their way around it by screaming how they were oppressed, or victimized. What a disgusting tactic. I imagine few Americans doubt that this was just some average Joe doing his job in guarding the building until miss ill-manners happened along, probably half loaded from lunch, or whatever. Either that, or she's simply one of the worst examples of the stupidity and viciousness of some on the far left. This woman is a disgrace to black people everywhere. And it would be a crime to continue to allow her to get away with it.
James W. Myart Jr., one of McKinney's attorneys, said he will seek an investigation against the officer, who has not been identified.
Belafonte and Glover said they were there as a show of support for the fiery six-term representative.

Don't particularly care about her- but I occasionally wouldn't mind bopping a few annoying powertrip security people.

I definitely want Belafonte backing me when I'm charged with assault

I encourage everyone to e-mail their Senator, Congressperson and even the Whitehouse to demand support for the guard. What are the security measures for but to protect? They're not there to harrass people. Lots of deaths have been avoided since some courts have constructed security lines that have caught people trying to get in carrying guns with the intent to kill. Then we have the airlines and their systems. That sleeze ball needs to be slapped with and big fine to act as an example. What does this demonstrate for the youth of America? Assualt and battery is not to be condoned under any conditions.

Ms. Bitch might want to step back a bit, or she will end up with blood on her hands. I think she is trying to provoke a race war. I really, really do. Along with Harry, and Danny, etc. Oh..Louis, too. Thank God there are enough smart, good people of all colours that the blood splatter should just hit them.

Nice job.
It's very refreshing to see the law enforcement community getting such support.
Keep up the good work.

Bring. it. on. I hope to god they go after this POS. The guard was doing his job. He called after her verbally three times and she basically gave him the finger. What is he supposed to do? Shrug his shoulders and go back to standing at attention as if nothing happened? She claims 'inappropriate' touching. Hell...touching her anywhere would be inappropriate. You might catch some of her 'I'm black, female, and important' cooties. Who needs those? Most of us live in the real world
Oooh.... oh, I am SO hoping they go after her.

Capitol Police should just drop it, don't give this bitch 1 more second of media exposure, which is what she wants. She is beyond repulsive.

Well, she started it.I say we finish it. Let's give LE the respect and courtesy they have earned, and deserve. Give her a little "look what eventually happens to bullies" wake-up call. As in why shouldn't the following statement be given the same consideration: I am a non black woman, non congress person and I have to get my car searched when I pick up someone from the airport. And OMG...the Officer touched me too,as he was handing me my cane. Geeeesh I just wanna smack that POS.

Actually McKinney can make a Constitutional defense if she is charged.
"They shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the
Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of
their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same"
This has already been used to protect members of Congress from speeding tickets.

"Just your typical brown shirt tactic of a government official attempting to use governmental authority to intimidate."
Now that's funny. First time I read that, I figured you were talking about the arrest warrant issued by the Capitol police. Sucks when the boot is on the other foot, don't it? What do you want to bet that had there been no cheap "arrest warrant" stunt there'd be no cheap "investigation" stunt?
I don't much care for McKinney. On the other hand, I expect that the Capitol police don't often assault white male congressmen. Sounds to me like on this one, everyone sucks. Here's hoping everyone involved winds up wishing they'd never (assaulted a congresscritter/assaulted an officer/subsequently abused their power/subsequently abused their power.)

Well! They can bitch about lack of security by the administration until they experience security for real. Hmmmm? So the guard wasn't suppose to do his job? Not touch her because she is a woman? Or let her by because she is black? Don't forget, we can't profile anyone. Let the black bitch through because she is black. And even worse, she is a black woman! If you touch her you will be in big trouble. Her credentials are her damn skin color and her sex! And whats up with Harry (I LOVE COMMUNISTS) Belafonte? And that guy that had a movie 10 years ago? Danny someone? Two has beens that dont know squat about security issues and think life is about color only. Or maybe they just want someone to notice them again.

I hope she keeps this up. It will backfire on her big time. Capitol Hill Police are there to protect the Capitol. They dont discriminate. She is bad racist like Belafonte and Jesse and Al.

So this woman is going to claim that what happened was because she is black, well, so is Condi Rice, but there is a big difference between these women, Condi is a class act, McKinney ought to go learn something from her, like, how to take that great big chip off her shoulder.
Posted by: annie | Sunday, April 02, 2006 at 02:33 PM
"They dont discriminate."
Of course they don't. It was just a coincidence that the representative that was assaulted was one of the many African-American Reps. There are so many in Congress that you have to figure that when there's a screwup, odds are good it'll be someone with dark skin and kinky hair.
Funny you should mention Condi Rice, annie:
http://www.blackcommentator.com/52/52_rice.html
"...in 1990 when she served as an adviser to the first President Bush, Rice was physically shoved by a secret service agent while attempting to enter the White House. She was literally put back into her place."
That also, I'm sure, had nothing to do with the color of her skin.
I'm a white male, age 37. Raised a bit of hell when I was a kid, and I'm certainly no more law-abiding than Ms. Rice or Ms. McKinney and probably a good deal less so. And yet somehow no peace officer has ever, in my entire life, laid a hand on me.
How 'bout that.

She f'n Crazy I hope the Capitol Police Support their officer! Annie you are totally correct! I am SO tired of the race card. Those in congress have protocol. They know how to identify themselves. The Capitol Police also have protocol and it it seems to have been followed

As usual Laertes you make no sense, you or your friend Cindi!
I am white, but I was stopped after driving over the Scottish border one night and passing a police car that was parked at the side of the road. I was chased along country roads by the cops who eventually overtook me and made me stop. I could not think what I could have done wrong as I was not speeding, and when I did stop I was told to get out and the car was searched, and I was questioned by two policemen about where I had come from, where was I going, etc.
It turned out they had stopped me because I was driving what they considered was a fast car!! which incidentally was my son's.
If I had been black, given McKinney's viewpoint, I would still be thinking they had stopped me because of that reason.
What happened to this woman was because she was not behaving appropriately. Now she is out to cause a lot of trouble for the security guard just because she can't accept that. She should learn to follow the rules, instead of thinking she is exempt from them.
Posted by: annie | Sunday, April 02, 2006 at 06:31 PM
Can I also add, that if I had not got out of the car as requested, I have no doubt whatsoever that they would have dragged me out and cuffed me.

This Gal is as rasist as they get. She has tryed for years to pitch blacks aganists whites. Along with her COMMUNISTS friends they need to remove her she doesnt deserve to serve the people as she only serves the Blacks who agree with her. The Guard was right to stop her and they need to press charges against her and firer her. She has pulled several stunts and gotton by with them its time she paid the piper for acting out time to get her out of congress.
