McKinney Admits Taxpayer Fraud

Forget censure. It's time to start talking impeachment or resignation for Cynthia McKinney.

She was first elected as a write in candidate through an effort from her Father, she was living in Jamaica at that time. She was also defeated for re-election in 2002 - only to regain her seat when running after it was vacated.

Cythinia McKinney has enough dirty laundry to fill a house. But it should not be sitting in the House Of Representatives.

WASHINGTON -- Rep. Cynthia McKinney admits that she broke government rules by spending money to fly a celebrity to Atlanta.

Channel 2 Action News has uncovered documents showing McKinney, D-Ga., spent about $1,000 of taxpayer's money to fly singer Isaac Hayes to Georgia to help dedicate a new office in Atlanta.

The money came from a fund members of Congress are supposed to use for office supplies.

Using the money to pay for Hayes' airline ticket and hotel expenses is a violation of strict congressional rules. Those rules state that taxpayer money can only be used for "travel by Members, Members' employees and vendors. A vendor is an employee of a private company that provides maintenance and support for equipment and software..."

If a sitting congresswoman was about to be exposed as a thief that stole money from the public what would she do?

File a discrimination lawsuit so she can leave with mega money?

Isaac Hayes is a stapler? Whoa. I'd spend my own thousand dollars to have him sing that eighteen minute version of "By the Time I Get to Phoenix" and "Shaft". Hell yeah....

She isn't going to win any lawsuit. I think the collective fret is up in arms over this person who was in Congress while black. She'll be on that midnight train to Georgia in no time.

Heh. I wonder if Jackson, Sharpton, Belafonte, and the NAACP are going to high tail now....

I strongly urge those in authority to impose a stiff penalty on this woman and ignore the threats of racism and the like. Frankly, the enforcers owe us and need to do their job and start enforcing ethical standards so the youth of America will have something to embrace. Continuing to let crap like this get away with comics and animations that disregard basic civility send the wrong message to those coming up the ladder and grossly distracts from the meaningful value of government and duly representing the people. I don't care of the trial and subsequent appeals last a lifetime, an example must be made and she has offered herself as a bona fide subject.

Now this is "rich!" Thanks!

Wow, I'm sure glad you don't go off half-cocked. A few question, though:

First, the story says that the WSB news has "uncovered documents." What documents? What prompted the search for and the examination of those documents, and when did the investigation start?

Second, when did Isaac Hayes' trip to Atlanta occur? This would help establish a timeline, which is an important part of this story.

Third, why are there no quotes directly attributed to McKinney's staffers or McKinney herself? The story's title reads, "McKinney Admits Misusing Taxpayer Money," but without a direct quote from McKinney that title is completely inaccurate.

Fourth, why is there no byline on the story? Is WSB afraid to have the reporter or reporters who wrote it held accountable for their work?

This reads like the beginning of a major swiftboating campaign. Not that people like you care.

Was it because Mr. Hayes appearance was a "staple" of the new "office" dedication she was "supplying" ?!?!

LMAO!

Althor :)

Congressmen can't be impeached, unfortunately. They can expel Members and refuse to seat them if re-elected

Knowing her, she'll probably throw a "hissy fit" slap a few officers and go sit anyway!!!

Cindy McBigot wanted some "Chocolate Salty Balls" from Chef

Uhhhh.... She could surely use them, but, Chef won't do that without Tom Cruise's approval!

LOL!

Althor :P

I am a democrat so I expect Dems to keep their nose squeaky clean -- let the Republicans be satisfied with mediocrity.
Cynthia McKinney is an embarrassment. She is about as progressive as Leona Helmsley. She seems to have a predilection for kicking "little people," such as police and her (taxpayer-paid) staff.
One can't trust someone who preaches progressivism and acts like a feudal lord and master.
