TULLYTOWN, Pa. - The remains of a white man were found Tuesday in a Pennsylvania landfill where authorities have been searching for the body of a missing college student, police said.
Tullytown Patrolman John Finby said the remains were found at 1:45 p.m.
New Jersey state police said they had made an important discovery at the landfill, where for the past three weeks officials have been searching for John Fiocco Jr., a freshman at The College of New Jersey.
Capt. Al Della Fave said there had been a "significant development" but would not disclose any further information.
The Times of Trenton, citing unnamed law enforcement sources on its Web site, said Fiocco's body had been found. Several television news outlets also said his body had been found.

Three weeks in a landfill is a long, long search - thank goodness they were so thorough. These searchers should be commended for not giving up. Hopefully his family can find some comfort from this.

Now the questions can be answered by Fiocco himself. The remains will tell the story and evidence of other DNA. also How does someone fit in a small space like that ...........with out being helped .......sounds like reckless behavior to me.

I'm very sad to hear this sad discovery was made, but, considering the Natalee Holloway case, it's better for his family that the body was found. How ironic that this horror is preferable to not knowing, and the ordeal that other parents and families endure.
I hope that his body will yield clues, and that he will have justice.
My prayers are with his family. It's such a waste of a young and promising life. It's hard to find explanations to console the pain of hearing about this tragedy.
