The more things change, the more they stay the same. Why are Dems so intent on taking jobs from young and unskilled Blacks? Also see post below.
Senate Republicans will filibuster their own immigration bill today in the face of steadfast refusal by Democrats to allow amendments to the bill that many conservatives view as granting amnesty to illegal aliens.
As an alternative, Majority Leader Bill Frist reached an agreement last night with fellow Republicans on a new comprehensive immigration plan that includes increasing border security and a guest-worker plan, but still does not resolve concerns about amnesty.

Repubs on the hill need to quit their crying. They own both houses. They can pass whatever they like, with or without Democrats. Last I checked, you guys took pride in completely shutting Democrats out of the legislative process. So how come it's those powerless, useless, not-involved-in-the-process Democrats who are to blame any time y'all can't get your act together?
Whatever the GOP does on this, they're likely to screw it up. The sensible move for Democrats is to stonewall any way they can, and take up the issue after the midterms.
