As if anyone cares. But it's somewhat clear what is going on here.
Iran's supreme leader said Tuesday that the country is ready to transfer its nuclear technology to other countries. Meanwhile, Tehran threatened to halt all cooperation with the U.N. atomic energy agency if the U.N. Security Council imposes sanctions, warning that it might hide its nuclear program if the West takes any other "harsh measures."
... The remarks on sharing nuclear technology by Iran's top leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, came as he met with Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir. (emp. mine)
The Iranians believe that the great leveler - pardon the pun, between the world of radical Islam and everyone else is nuclear weaponry - not power. If they can advance the ball down the field and get it, Iran could become sort of a neo-Mother Russia to satellite states umbrellaed under radical Islam.
There is no telling how much death and suffering this would inflict on the world as free-thinkers, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, etc. currently living in states which are or converted to radical Islam purged themselves of infidels.
And how is it anyone would stop it, if each minor confrontation held the risk of nuclear war? Hell, the more liberal Democrats would likely start wearing veils to hearings just to keep that option from coming up. I wonder how long idiots like Russ Feingold would last in Wisconsin when he started proposing that our Supreme Court should consider, not only International, but Sharia Law, as well.
Everyone likes to think about this issue only in the context of Israel and the prospect of Iran wiping it from the map. I'm not suggesting that alone isn't significant, but Israel alone does not a Caliphate make. And that's basically what the mullahs are after as an end game.
The most amazing bit about this whole thing is the way liberal has beens, like Brzezinski, continue to take shots at Bush's alleged religious zealotry,
The United States should not be guided by emotions or a sense of a religiously inspired mission
yet, they would ignore or appease the real threat from religious zealotry which continues to fester and grow in the Middle-east.
