» United 93: Be Prepared from Publius Rendezvous
It has been quite some time, if ever, that a motion picture has effected me in the way United 93 did this past evening. From the beginning sequence, hearing the futile utterances of Islamic prayers as the terrorists begin preparations for their diabo... [Read More]

» United 93 from All Things Beautiful
Femme en pleurs (Woman in tears) by Pablo Picasso 1937, Penrose Collection, London I didn't go and see it. I hate heaving full cinemas and calling for sold out tickets. Getting organized in advance simply ruins my street cred .... O.K. the truth of the... [Read More]

» Uncomfortably Numb, Re-Awakened Anew from Ms. Underestimated
I just pray that no other American has to watch as that green, grassy field approaches before everything goes dark. This is not just a reminder, folks....it's a warning. It's not a matter of "if" anymore.... but of "when." [Read More]

Yes, I NEED too and most definitely will!

didn't anyone see flight 93 when it was om A & E? That must be similar to this film and that was very heartbreaking

I plan on seeing it soon. I feel I need to and I want to see the movie. I just saw the one on A & E. TRUE AMERICAN HEROES!!!! May God Bless their souls and continue to hold their families close. God Bless America the land of the brave!!!!!

Also according to Drudge the movie will be coming in third this weekend. I think many more will wait for the DVD to watch in their homes.

I think very few people from the NY Metro area will see Flight 93, which will be unfortunate given how weakly most there support the war on terror. Seeing the film might stiffen a few backbones. But then what do I know?

BTW: that film clip of the burning towers was sobering. I cannot view such stuff without feeling miserably sad and so very, very pissed off.

what happened on 9/11 is outrageous to put it mildly...and it is so very heartbreaking....it us unreal to watch movies like flight 93 and think these were real people going through this and real families on the phone with their loved ones having to say goodbye - how could they ever have a clue when they got a plane that morning this would happen? I will never understand the thought process of the muslim people who feel they are doing God a service to harm and terrorize others. There are also many many good muslim and middle eastern people who were hurt by 9/11. As for "stiffening a few backbones" on the war - I don't think people are soft on the issue of catching the people who did this - but the issue is was this the right war for it? should we have invaded Iraq to get to Osama Bin Laden who is nowhere to be found? Sure, Saddam needed to go and it has helped Iraq's people in some ways but is it really really worth it to continue with this for years to come and never catch who we came for in the first place? If anyone has noticed, things are not better in Iraq they are worse. Our soldiers are being killed every day - 18 year old privates just in the service are being sent home dead. My feeling is, send our troops home, get the innocent people out of there and let the rest of the crazies fight it out alone if they want to blow up everything. My husband joined the army almost two years ago. He has been studying the arabic language for a year now to be used as a linguist for the army in the war on terror to listen to conversations of suspected terrorists and decipher them. This job means he is supposed to be in a room somewhere protected with headphones on listening - but in reality he will be as vunerable as anyone else and he has a very good chance of being deployed to Iraq as soon as he is finished with his language training. My husband, who I have been married to for less than two years, known for three, and who is father to our little girl 15 months old, could kiss us goodbye and never come home. That is what softens my backbone.
