Dave Holloway - Dompig Removed

BIRMINGHAM -- Aruba's lead investigator in the search for Natalee Holloway has been taken off the case.

NBC13 News spoke to Natalee Holloway's father, Dave, on Wednesday, and he confirmed that Aruba's deputy chief of police, Gerold Dompig, has been released from the search. Neither Holloway nor other Aruban investigators are saying specifically why Dompig has been removed.

Natalee Holloway has been missing for almost an entire year now. She was on a graduation trip with dozens of other Mountain Brook teenagers when she vanished. A total of five people have been questioned, three of whom were held for several months in the case. All of them have been released.

Another witness, who is reportedly Dompig's brother-in-law, has come forward in the case, NBC 13 reported.

Dave Holloway said he believes Dompig might have tried to protect someone.

"I think it's been his actions. Even from the beginning, they've been, you know, just awkward. He was the one who refused to allow the FBI on the island, you know. Just some of his characteristics, if he's involved in what I feel like is a cover-up and, you know, maybe he was trying to help someone else out. I'm not sure, but there's something strange going on there, maybe some others who are involved in it," Dave Holloway said.

This statement is totally UNTRUE. The security guards were not arrested because of the boys. The boys spoke of security guards in a black shirt -- not black men. The guards were arrested because they had been seen in the area and had possessions of the MB group in their home.

no that is totally spin -- not true. They read Deepak's statement word for word -- he described the security guards as "dark-color skinned."

remember something about natalee being dealt a hand to confirm to those who were carving her out that she was the "one"...think the hand was king king....or "king kong" as per the codetalkers riddle...thought they hinted to lorenzo wever who had worked in the casino possibly dealing her that hand(or maybe not) and that some high stakes poker players witnessed it or something.

The security guard issue has been discussed to death.

Again I have to say that if you can't understand that when 3 guys say we saw one or two guys, wearing black clothes, who were "dark" and had walkie talkie's talking to Natalee when we left her there is DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE for 2 security guards getting arrested then you are a moron.

If they had not told the story about Natalee being dropped at the HI, why would anyone have arrested security guards who were ALLEGEDLY seen around the HI that day? They wouldn't, since they would have known that (a) Natalee never was back at the HI and (b) no black/dark security guards ever talked to her.

End of discussion, move on.

I stand 100% by what I said. It is in the ALE transcripts that were obtained and read on Greta. The rumor of the guards and having stolen property is just that -- a rumor. The Beth haters were spouting this -- it just wasnot true -- only wishful thinking.

I'd say she wanted to imply he knew something about Natalee. The producer talked with him and he was obviously under the influence of some substance. He definetly claimed to know something about Natalee, but wanted to be paid for his information. Then Rita has Dave Holloway on and he said it was completly nosince, and that he had interviewed him 5 times over the past year and he had been high at all times. He also claimed he had better sources who weren't high.

Dompig's brother in law isn't believable and his story appears not to be supported by any other statements or evidence.

The name of the dead man is Maikel Juddan AKA Pitbull. He was a bouncer at the Bar "Choose a Name". Ironically, Deepak named this bar in his June 9, 2005 statement to police. It is unclear at this time how this is related, if at all. More to follow..

Choose-a-name is aimed toward an older (thirty-something) crowd than other spots like Carlos & Charlies and Bahia. It is popular for the friday happy hour, which, seeing as that nightlife is expensive in Aruba, is a good deal (an Afl. 25,- cover includes an all-you-can-drink bar for 2 hours -6 to 8- and small snacks). There is often a life band, sometimes 'Claudius Phillips & Oreo', the best local band. Lots of local professionals like to go here to start out the weekend. It is situated on the second floor behind the pink Royal Plaza building

Yes!! The guards, indeed, were the low men on the proverbial totem pole. If not for that "evil" Beth Twitty, they would be charged & convicted of the crime. Her unrelenting pressure on ALE for the truth prevented this from occuring.

I know this may be a bit of a stretch, but could it be that Dompig is simply toying with Dutch authorities by introducing the new star witness---his drug dealing, dope smoking brother in law? Is this just not his attempt to have a little fun before being removed from the case, which he probably was aware of months ago? Again, this must seem like a HUGE "reach", but I can't help but see similarities between Dompig's situation and that of the Black lawyer from Chicago (Bobby is his name) who was recently voted off of the current Survivor tv show. Prior to being voted out, the extremely intelligent Bobby was becoming increasingly apprehensive towards some of the "white" girls who were doubting his ability to successfully make a fire. While trying to make a fire, and with two of the white women looking on, he started to pretend that he had no idea what he was doing just to see if one of the other contestants, Danielle I believe, would clue into the fact that he was joking around. She didn't. She actually thought that Bobby was being serous when he was asking her whether he should be doing blatantly obvious things one should do when building a fire, like simply putting twigs on the fire to get it going even more, or asking "how" he should blow air onto the fire. She didn't clue in, and ended up looking pitiful in that particular episode. So, I couldn't help but maybe see that Dompig feels that everyone, primarily the "white" Dutch authorities (and US media) are doubting him, so just to toy with them and see maybe how stupid they think he is, why not concoct an outrageously ridiculous story of his dope smoking drug dealing brother in law being a new witness? He knows he's going down anyway, so why not make the other people look stupid like they made him look and feel over the last few months? Dope smoking, drug dealing brother in law? My gosh, it couldn't get any more absurd, could it? It can't possibly be a real situation. Anyways, I couldn't help but see some striking similarities in the political dynamics transpiring around Dompig, and those that existed around Survivor Bobby, and which motivated him to intentionally behave in an obtuse way as a way to turn the tables on his adversaries.
