Yes, folks, perhaps you've heard this, perhaps not. But the very city so tragically attacked on 9/11 is now entertaining The Voting Rights Restoration Act. Doesn't that sound grand? Well here's what it does and here's who's behind it.
The Voting Rights Restoration Act would allow permanent residents, or "green card" holders, who have lived in the city for more than six months to vote in local elections.
Congratulations New York, you have almost made it. If you pass this Act, you will be a true international city. Just think, the next time some terrorist slips into the city, as long as they plot and plan for six months, they can run out and vote Democrat before blowing themselves up.
I'm unsure which act would be the greater act of terrorism aganist this country in the end.

Utterly preposterous! Give the country away, by vote. Remember the Third Reich? Hitler was elected. Remember what he did? Pure unadulterated crap.

I feel like Alice at the freakin tea party! So this means that Hugo Chavez could come here for a few months and then vote?? I think it's time to amend voting rights and have levels. If you're born here you have the most rights. If you're not born here you can vote for dog catcher.

The process to become a citizen or get a green card is NOT at all a easy process (thats where it is designed to be for). The average time to become legally a citizen (depending wether you do this for your spouse or lets say cousin) is about 2 years. Lots of paperwork and interviews and doctorvisits (you get a lot of needlework: tested on AIDS and other various diseases) and yes even a visit to a mental doctor.....
I'm not sure if I am for or against this measure... I quess the rational is that if you pay taxes you ought to be able to decide (vote) as well ?!!! or not ?

"vote Democrat before blowing themselves up...I'm unsure which act would be the greater act of terrorism aganist this country"
Thanks for that, man. After yesterday's bit where you called Hannity out for being a racist prick, I was almost feeling like I had to take you seriously.

there seems to be a lot of ignorance about people getting a green card or obtaining a citizenship.... what makes you think those come easy ? you seriously thinking Chavez would get one from INS ?
even if all those millions out of the woodwork come and claim citizenship, it is a time consuming not to mention it costs amerian dollars ... (pay for the lawyer, pay for the applications, pay for the card itself, at least around 1000-1500).
Just to come back on this issue, i thought about it a bit, so when one comes on a green card (you only get this when the American employer applies for this with reason he/she can't find some one comparable) you pay city taxes, real estate taxes and state taxes, so the money is welcom, but you can't have anything to say ... that doesn't seem right to me..
