I think this guy wants it up the shoot so bad he can probably taste it. And I hope he has both experiences before his sorry ass leaves this world for hell, assuming he hasn't already. Even money says he was playing hide the HoJo with his male friends in grade school long before he found Gawd!.
He was disbarred, appears to be as disgraceful a lawyer as he is a human being. But basically the whole family are lawyers? Margie employed by the state of Kansas? Good
Gawd.
Married or not, about the only way this skank could get any action would be from someone locked in a cell. They should try this vermin for something and take them out and shoot them like the dogs they are.

Some people are so clueless. Let her wear a burka for a week in afghanistan and see how fast she cries for help.

I grew up in SOUTHERN Baptist. All pretty nice rational people, nothing like these folks, but are very conservative. But am not a Baptist anymore, too fundamentalist for how I think, however there are many wonderful, kind and very balanced people who are southern Baptist so am not trying to bash them. Then comes somebody like Jerry Fawell - he would make me embarrassed to be a Baptist if I were still one, probably not claimed by a lot of other Baptist either.
The excerpt from the article below clarifies that they are not affiliated with another group. Not sure of the Baptist structure in their region. However, whatever group is comparable to the Southern Baptist convention in the southeast, needs to come out publically and say they oppose what these people are doing and request that they call themselves something other than Baptist. We could think of a few names.
I am wondering if they they could be charged with some sort of harrassment under the hate crimes laws for what they are doing. These people's actions are about as UNChristian as it gets.
Excerpt from article:
"I don't think they have any constituency beyond their own members - even the Nazis aren't interested," he said.
Phelps' virulence and frequently graphic condemnations of anal sex could mask a deeper issue than a radically literal interpretation of the Bible, Potok speculated.
"This man probably thinks more about gay sex than any other person in the United States of America and one can only guess at what that means," he said. "Many of the most homophobic people are deeply afraid that they might be gay."

I too grew up S. Baptist, but have no affiliation now. I've not experienced this type of pure hate in S. Baptists I've experienced over the years. The Sourthern Poverty Law Center's site has several articles on Fred Phelps and his family's antics in Topeka and elsewhere. Same for the Antidefamation League's site: http://www.adl.org/special_reports/wbc/default.asp Also other reports on that site.
Phelps' organization is limited to the church he runs, but it's quite a good sized organization. He's not only homophobic, he's also anti-Jew, anti-black, anti-other churches, etc. Seems like he's not pro-anything save for hate.
These two sites have numerous entries on American style terrorists such as militias and sovereignity movement.

It's people like this that make Christians look bad.
They don't represent my faith.
Dancing at the funeral? of a dead soldier? I'm afraid I'd have to get out my other cheek left hook and throw down some trash.

I can't believe this!!!!!!!!!!!!! I come from a long family line of Marines. Granted I live in a little town in Va but I would hate to see these people show up here. Between the long lines of military and long lines of rednecks the next funeral they visited after stopping here would probably be their own.

Please let me clarify. I am a Southern Baptist and teach children's Sunday School in my church. MY CHURCH was picketed by these heartless, brainless, spineless, hate-filled people. They waved the same signs and screamed out the same vicious insults at the funeral of another fallen American soldier here in my hometown of Lexington, Kentucky. They are in no way affiliated with any Baptist organization, and certainly not with the Southern Baptist Convention, which they despise. As a result of their hate-mongering in our state, the Kentucky General Assembly has just passed legislation that makes picketing and demonstrating at a funeral illegal behavior. Should they choose to invade our state again with their venom, they will find out just what the inside of a Kentucky jail looks like. On another related note. . .so many have a distorted view of the Southern Baptist Church. We are the denomation of Billy Graham, not just Jerry Falwell. No other group has sent as many people, supplies or dollars to help the victims of Katrina, for example. We are commanded to love one another, just as Christ loves us, and I see that love expressed by the 30 college students from my church who have just left on their spring break trip. . .to work in New Orleans, rather than drink on the beach. Another group left yesterday to work in a poor Peruvian village until school begins again. And please don't confuse us with Phelps's unpatriotic group. As the daughter of a man who proudly served this country during 3 wars in a 28-year-career in the U.S.Navy, I can tell you that there is no more patriotic group in this country than the folks at my local church. We have a Wall of Honor with the pictures of the hundreds of men and women from our congregation who have served or are currently serving in this nation's armed forces. Returning soldiers, sailors and marines from Iraq and Afghanistan receive a standing ovation when they enter our sanctuary, and care packages every month while they are far from home. I am sad that Fred Phelps has chosen to call himself a Baptist. . .and an American, too. He deserves neither honor.

How can you people insult a fine registered Democrat like Fred Phelps?
Posted by: richard mcenroe | Sunday, March 12, 2006 at 10:58 PM
Fred Phelps has the sickest site on the internet. According to him, Catholics, Jews, Episcopalians, Republicans, Democrats, Pres. Bush, Condi Rice, Bill Clinton, policemen, firemen, Billy Graham, Jerry Falwell, the miners who died in WVA, the current members of the military who don't repent and the fallen soldiers are all going to Hell together. That's quite an eclectic collection. The language used by this supposed man of God and those representing his "church's" beliefs is horrendous. Any woman who doesn't agree with them is automatically called a whore or slut, and any man is referred to as stupid, moronic, and faggy.
They want people to attack them. Then they sue. That's how they finance this organization of theirs. And that's why the authorities in Topeka have been trying to take away their tax exempt status.
It would almost be laughable if it were not so scary to think these lunatics are allowed to walk around in the world with the rest of us.

In my opinion, God is the only one to judge our soul and that is done on judgement day. It's not for any of us human's to judge another soul. We may not always agree with how someone lives there life. Or agree on their particular faith. But God's house has many manson's. I believe that its for all the different religons. There are lots of good souls here on earth that practice different faiths. And It's certainly wrong for anyone to go picket another persons funeral or other churches, etc in the manor this perticular group does. I find pitifully sad when this group of people can't see beyond there own ignorance, a much bigger picture, to realize what they are doing is far more a bigger sin. Teaching Hate only consumes the weak soul. God's way is love and never hate. I do visit topeka and attend church when ever I am there. This group is always picketing somewhere and not just one place but several.

Five women sang and danced as they held up signs saying "thank God for dead soldiers" at the funeral of an army sergeant who was killed by an Iraqi bomb.

Believe me, this is one of the less horrible things Westboro Baptist and Phelps have done.
Here's an overview from Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_Phelps

I am a southern baptist and I would like to say the church I attend loves the men and women in the military. Every year at Memorial day, Fourth of July and other holidays we salute the service men and women for their brave sacrifice.
