Update: Her new MySpace account info here.
A reader brought this to my attention - sort of gives now meaning to the term team teaching.
Does the blonde in the picture look a little like Debra Lafave? Well, it isn't her, but another female teacher, Pamela Rogers (Turner) recently released from jail after serving a little over six months for having an affair with a 13 year old male student.
Pamela Rogers released from jail after six weeks. She was sentenced to 9 months in jail, but ended up serving just a little more than six months due to good behavior. Rogers was serving the sentence for her sexual relationship with a 13 year-old male student from Centertown. At the time, Rogers was married and went by the name Pamela Turner.
So much for, everything you need to know they teach you in kindergarten, ay?
· Inside her 'affair' with student, 13. The torrid "affair" between a stunning teacher and a 13-year-old student began with innocent online chats, but ended with the teen losing his virginity and the temptress obsessed with her boy toy, the teen's best friend told the New York Post.
What apparently started as a simple text message from Turner to the 13-year-old saying "I think you're cute," ignited an illicit three-month affair during which, authorities charged, Turner and the teen had intercourse and oral sex more than a dozen times, according to the Post.
· Teacher's sex case has town in turmoil. There's a Pamela Turner — the sweet-tempered, grade-school teacher who is seen as a role model for students. And there's a Pamela Turner who in her college days was the glitzy Ms. Monday Nitro of World Championship Wrestling at Spring Break festivities in 1997.
· Accused teacher was a friend, boy's parent says. An elementary teacher who resigned when she was accused of having sexual relations with a 13-year-old boy was described by the teen's mother as a close family friend.
· Tenn. Teacher Pleads Not Guilty. The lawyer for a former Warren County elementary teacher accused of having sex with a 13-year-old boy pleaded not guilty for his client Wednesday.

Man why cant this happen to me? I always had the 50 year old fat teachers with the moles on their faces. Lucky kid

Yeah, and if they're fut bugly like this woman (see http://snipurl.com/futbugly) who was 23 when she had sex with a 14 year old boy, they get 9 years.

The second year I taught, a minor but strange thing happened to me. I'm not bad looking, and I'm small and have always looked younger than my age. I taught seniors. I had the star football player in my class, and he was everything that personifies. Plus, he was such a gentleman that it was hard to believe considering if anyone had the 'right' to be tough and arrogant, this kid could be it.
One night, without EVER thinking in turn-on or sexual terms of my students, I had a dream that this guy and I were walking out of the school one rainy afternoon... He had an umbrella and invited me to get under it, which I did. Then he closed the umbrella over us and we kissed. He leant down and kissed me so gently, but passionately. Not rough or anything. ..........jeez... I'm blushing just reliving this...! Anyway, that was it. Nothing more to the dream, but, oh, did I ever have a terrible time not blushing when I had him in class after that. It took me a couple of months to be able to rid myself of the jitters when he was in my room.
And I seriously mean it when I say I never had sexual thoughts about my students. That subconscious stuff, though... whew!

The Pamela Turner case has eerie similarities to the Debra LaFave case. Both are young stunning blond beauties in their mid 20's, both are public school teachers, both had the same demeanor during their intereactions with the legal system, both are pedophiles, both were married during their pedophilic activities, both are now divorced, and both have posed in a bathing suit on a motorcycle. Why aren't these stunning blond pedophiles kept in jail away from access to youngsters??2

Regardless of how "lucky" the kid was to have sex with his teacher (geesh), the victim is not on trial, it is HER behaviour that is criminal, and disgusting. She is the adult. And it is the same thing as a male gymnastics coach, swimming coach, minister, etc. having an "affair" with a 13 year-old female. It is illegal, and disgusting, and it is called RAPE. Both women should be behind bars for a long time.

Lafave and Turner are both hot, but soooooo what? I have represented men who were accused of doing far less than this to girls of the same age and received twenty years or more!
Those I represented didn't have sexual intercourse at all with the girls. That includes oral sex or even exposing themselves to the girls. If the men had done what these women were doing they would face life sentences.
Being Bi-polar would not have excused the behavior if it had been a man. Being Bi-polar would have been used against the defendant if it were a man. He would be unsafe for society.
Being a family friend certainly would not have excused the behavior either. He would have been viewed as abusing his position of trust to be a predator. No amount of excuse or explanation of how they themselves had been molested by experts would have helped either. (In my community)
Of course that is why this is a story in the first place. Notably because of their gender and attractiveness different people face different sentences for the same conduct. Most state statutes prohibit this behavior because the minor is incapable of consenting.
Its just my opinion, but I applaud the judge in Florida who refused the plea agreement. At least he is not a hypocrite. I also disagree with the prosecutor who dismissed the charges to avoid "harm to the victim" because of the media exposure. I submit it wouldn't have been the media exposure that would have been responsible for any psychological harm to the boy, it would have been Ms. Lafave who was responsible.

The bi-polar defense is becoming over-used. Man or woman, it doesn't fly. Bi-polar disorder does not cause one to go out and hump fourteen-year-olds. Had La Fave had bi-polar disorder and gone so manic, she would not have been able to function. Everyone around her would have noticed.
Bi-polar disorder is becoming a catch-all for any deviant behavior, and it's a joke. That man who was shot in the off-ramp of the plane while his wife screamed, "He's off his medication! He's bi-polar!" ? Joke. You have to be off your medication for a long time for symptoms to reappear, and anyone living with a bi-polar notices the change in behavior.
Too ridiculous. These two women had a uni-polar disease, though: Stupidity and lust.

sqrew you all. heck yeah that kid was lucky to have a hot teacher like that, heck, i'd be happy to have her now. and as far as these hot women teachers getting lighter sentences bc of their "hotness" and "femaliness" as opposed to the male teachers that get thrown in jail forever, i think you're absolutely right; the men should get lighter sentences too. seriously, tell me you would've said no to her when you were 13! thats all i ever thought about when i was 13, he knew what he was doing! did it scar the poor boy for life? i doubt it, seriously, when he's a heroin addict living in an alley somewhere 10 years from now, are YOU gonna feel sorry for him because he boinked his teacher at 13? if he runs out and kills a bunch of ppl is it gonna be "not his fault, cause he was abused"? get over yourselves! you know my dad spanked me pretty hard once when i was like 7; but i doubt thats why i failed in life. maybe if just once i coulda licked the spanish teacher's cooter though, maybe then i woulda finished college.

I'm a year late and a dollar short, but I wanted to weigh in on the bipolar defense in these cases where older women are in sexual relationships with underage minors. Being bipolar, of course, does not give anyone the right to break the law. It can however, in certain phases, lower inhibitions and cloud judgment, particularly when it comes to risky behavior such as gambling, driving unsafely, and sexual relations. It's not an excuse and it's not a justification, but the disorder can be a significant contributing factor to a terrible, terrible sexual decision.
