NYU vs Yale

Oh, this is rich ... as most are aware, Yale University as a Taliban scholar in residence with a fourth grade education.

Three weeks after the New York Times revealed that former Taliban official Sayed Rahmatullah Hashemi is attending classes at Yale, many at the university still have little to say about the controversy. Meredith Startz, president of the Yale Political Union, told me "there's more discussion of military recruiting among people at Yale than about the Taliban student."

But on the other hand, NYU is denying an on campus group permission to display the infamous cartoons of Mohammed openly for purposes of group discussion.

In violation of its own policies, New York University (NYU) is refusing to allow a student group to show the Danish cartoons of Mohammed at a public event tonight. Even though the purpose of the event is to show and discuss the cartoons, an administrator has suddenly ordered the students either not to display them or to exclude 150 off-campus guests from attending....

Also, an informative post here.

Dear Mr. Sexton and Mr. Butler,

I learned this morning that NYU has decided, at the very last minute, to bar the public from tonight's Panel Discussion on the Danish Cartoons if the cartoons themselves are shown. I am gravely disturbed by this decision.

Also recall that some of our best Law Schools are miffed that they have to allow military recruiting if they want their Federal funding. Now you tell me - which side is the Academy on?

So much for freedom of speech in the vaulted halls of NYU. Jeeze, this really stinks. Of course it is a private school so I suppose they can get away with it -same for Yale. Still sucks.

I think we are seeing where real dictatorship in the US is coming from.

Forget Bush, these Liberal Left institutions speak for themselves!!!
