So says the Gothamist.
Our first reaction to this, and we suspect we're not alone on this, was "Gee whiz, what a convenient witness for the New York Post to find for the NYPD!" But apparently Cruz was able to describe distinctive jewelry that Imette was wearing and which haven't been made public. So we'll see what comes of this.
I'm no fan of repeat offender and suspect Darryl Littlejohn, but the early lie from The Falls opens the door to alternate scenarios for how a homeless person happens to overhear something and also be able to identify specific jewelry St. Guillen was wearing.
ShadowWraith has an excellent round up of events.

How far did she live from the Falls bar ?
I agree that DLJ is a convicted felon and a first class creep, but it just seems too convenient that he is the only person of interest who has had their name and picture everywhere.
If his DNA was not found on her, then they have to look for her DNA in the bar, the basement and the offices and the other employees homes.
I could care less if DLJ sits in jail forever, but if he wasn't the one, then that means that
someone got off scott free and will hurt someone else.
Also think that it was a crime of opportunity, she was there when the killer was there.
He was in the neighbourhood or in the bar looking for just the right opportunity and here she is. Closing times at bars are strange everwhere any maybe it was the bar that was being watched for a victim.

They can't search the homes of other employees without probable cause for a search warrant. They were able to secure a warrant for Littlejohn's home because (1) witness statements place her in his company the last time she was seen, (2) cell phone records place him at the disposal site a couple of hours before her body was found and at his home an hour prior to that, (3) a scratch on the back of his neck was at a stage of healing consistent with the time of Imette's apparent abduction, and (4) he lied to police about his contact with Imette when first questioned.

seems they've pinpointed his cellphone activity to the scene. Now the question is, who'd he call?
