A site uploaded screen captures from Fox News which showed portions alleged to be the FBI transcripts of the interrogations of two girls - Katherine Madison Whatley and Lee Broughton. Using magnification, I've tried to translate as much of the documents as possible.
There are a few interesting items. Among them, one description at least seems to match Steve Croes. And Natalee's shot of 151 that last night was, unfortunately, far from her first.
Whatley:
On Sunday night Whatley advised a group of friends ate dinner. Holloway had a couple of alcoholic drinks at dinner. Holloway was drinking Red Fires which had 151 in them. Although she had a couple of drinks at dinner Holloway "was not out of her mind."
While at dinner Holloway was making a bet with who Holloway "would hook up with" Sunday night. Whatley advised she did not actually make a bet was just talking amongst other girls.
Whatley thought that Holloway would hook up with Kevin Broday because Holloway was flirting with him.
After dinner, Whatley went to the (?) casino with Holloway. Broughton, Merrill, McViegh, amd (?????) McViegh had lost money at the casino during the trip and they went to the casino to help McViegh win (some??) money ......... They sat at a blackjack table. Holloway was not playing blackjack but was hovering from student to student. Whatley ................. at the blackjack table while they were playing.
Broughton:
Broughton and Holloway were assigned the same hotel room at the Holiday Inn. The daily routine for Broughton and Holloway was to get an alcohol drink and go to the ocean around 10:00 AM in the morning. At around 5:00 PM they would return to thier room for naps. At 6:00PM Broughton and Holloway would get ready to go out to get dinner. After dinner Broughton and Holloway would go outto Bars. Saturday, May 28, 2005, Holloway became very intoxicated and eventually had to be escorted back to her room by (Kevin Broday?).
During the morning hours on Sunday, May 29, 2005 Holloway started drinking mixed drinks called " Red Fires" The drinks contain Bicardi 151 and Diet Coke. Holloway became intoxicated and her friends told her to slow down. Holloway and Broughton continued to drink throughout the day. They went to dinner between 6:00 and 7:00 PM. After dinner Holloway and Broughton went to the Hotel Casino to watch Ruth McVay gamble/
While at the casino, Broughton and Holloway (came upon?) Joran (Last name unknown) Holloway had met Joran earlier that day on the beach. At about (xxxPM) Holloway (switched to?) a drink containing Vodka.
While sitting in the Casino a friend of Joran(LNU) arrived. Broughton (does not?) know the friend's name.xxxxxxxxx remember him to be fat and Chinese or Hawaiian looking. At approximately (xxxxxPM) Holloway, Broughton, xxx and others? went to the hotel by the pool. Approximately five minutes later when Joran LNU was leaving Holloway asked if Joran LNU was planning to meet them later at Carlos and Charlies. (He said it was really dead on Sunday nights???)

With all that drinkin, I'm surprised she even made it to CnC's....and nowhere in any of Joran's statements is there any mention that Holloway had met Joran earlier that day on the beach.
Slowly but surely bits and jagged pieces are starting to appear...will we ever get enough to tell us what happened to Natalee?

Me again....It's bothering me that Joran made no mention at all that Natalee met him on the beach earlier that day. I think this is very significant...does anyone else?

Dan you actually seemed to have done more cutting and pasting than magnifying. Why not give Hannie C from Refugeesunleashed the credit she deserves?

Definitely KEVIN BRODAY is the name referenced. Unclear if talked to or intended hook up with. Nice to see someone got their money's with this trip and was at least "flirting" as expensive as it turned out to be Cool :

So both Lee Ashford and Madison both mentioned that Natalee was to be with Kevin Broday?
No.
Lee didn't mention Broday except for escorting Natalee back to her room on Sat, Madison just said she "thought" Natalee would "hook up" with Broday because she had been flirting with him.

I think I'm going to have eyestrain for days, but can someone else see if they see same thing I do here? UNDER the blue line, if anyone can read it.. does it say something to effect of :
While at the casino, Broughton and Holloway (saw?)
Joran last name unknown(LNU) ___?___. Holloway had met Joran (?) during
the day on the beach.
and then it looks also to say something like about 8Confused? pm Holloway switched to a mixed drink containing Vodka. While sitting in the casino a friend of Joran's (LNU) arrived. Broughton does not know the ?friend's? name but remembers him to be fat and of chinese or ??Hawaiian?? (?looking?).
************
Some of it (with ??? marks) Im guessing at.. but.. I could swear it says Holloway had met Joran (LNU) earlier that day on the beach.

Joran has lied about everything. Obviously he did not know that the FBI had a statement that he had been to the beach and met the girls there. Now we know why Beth feels that Joran targeted Natalee. He met her on the beach, followed her to the casino and later to CnC's.

Didn't Joran say to Greta and ABC that he had never met Natalee before he saw her at the casino?
As far as these FBI interviews, they are a big so what? So she was drinking on her vacation, I certainly hope this isn't a surprise. It looks like she was NOT an experienced enough drinker to handle it too well, which goes toward the idea that Joran is lying about how intoxicated she was on the last night. So, she talked about possibly hooking up with some MB guys? This shouldn't really be a surprise to anyone either and 'hooking up' as we know runs the gamut from hanging out to having sex. What we sure do know is that she wasn't expressing any interest in Joran van der Sloot or K2, but in guys in her own group...making it that much more suspicious that in 30 minutes Joran claims she went from a virtual stranger to willing to have sex on the beach while being sober as a judge after having been drinking all day....
I will say what I've said from the beginning...the 3 guys took her somewhere, raped her and she died....the idea that they never touched her, she died, then they burried her to hide no crime whatsover and then they reburried her is only something that Aruba would try and put over on the public.
Posted by: XXX | Friday, March 31, 2006 at 09:48 AM
Even if she died from an overdose, GOSH, don't you think a one of them would just say so, report it right away and let me police take it from there, toxicology reports would be conclusive and they would be off the hook from any wrongdoing, but they didn't do that, why? If a friend of yours took an overdose and died in your presence would you proceed to bury them in the first place available or call the police asap???? and tell the TRUTH.
Posted by: Sweetie | Friday, March 31, 2006 at 09:57 AM
If she had met him earlier in the day at the beach, why would she have introduced herself to him at the blackjack table which the MB girls at that table have confirmed.
Sorry, you are now taking as fact, perhaps something the other Brookies were merely thinking but didn't know.

KQQL boywonder, Just wondering if anyone 'recently' brought up the fact that Paulus VDS was seen driving away from the area of the lighthouse/sand dunes, during the initial investigation phase, this alone with previous ALE commissioner VanderStratten stating 'he knows what happen', during a Greta interview, its bothersome.
Posted by: *flo* | Friday, March 31, 2006 at 09:59 AM
It is just too stupid for words to think that these guys have been lying about what happened ALL ALONG, when all that happened is that Natalee OD'd...
That would mean that just about everything Joran has said in his most recent round of 'the whole truth' interviews was a lie...no sober Natalee, no beach walk, no make out session, no staring at the stars...
So, presumably I would have to believe that he has lied for a year about everything related to what happened at C&C and afterwards and that he was making up all these lies out of whole cloth to avoid admitting that Natalee just OD'd and he panicked. RIDICULOUS!
Maybe he didn't kill her, but the reason she was disposed of, burried and according to the police reburried was not to hide the fact that she killed herself from drugs and alcohol but to hide the fact that these 3 animals had sex with her while she was dying and it was their DNA that had to be hidden.
If Natalee's body is the only thing that would exonerate you and prove you didn't rape or kill her, why wouldn't you produce it?
You would. If all you did was get rid of a corpse you would be begging and pleading to be let out of jail so you could take the cops to the body and be found innocent of rape and murder.
Aruban police give stupid a bad name.

"but to hide the fact that these 3 animals had sex with her while she was dying and it was their DNA that had to be hidden."
I dont think the 2K ever had sex with Natalee nor they ever had plans to do
so.

And Natalee's shot of 151 that last night was, unfortunately, far from her first.
Posted by: Dan
Actually the Red Fires were not shots of 151, as the statement says they were a mixed drink containing diet coke and 151. Not clear how much alcohol was in each such drink but I suspect less than a shot, or Natalee would not have appeared as sober as she did walking into the casino: A single shot of 151 proof will raise the BAC of a 110 lb female by about 0.8-1.0. Could be that learning to handle mixed drinks containing 151 gave her a false confidence in her ability to handle the straight shot that Joran purchased for her just prior to closing at CnCs.
Posted by: Jon | Friday, March 31, 2006 at 10:17 AM
Rape or murder are the only reasons why they would have disposed of her body and continue to lie about it.
Logically, if they didn't harm her, have sex with her or kill her they would have told the OD story as soon as they were arrested and led the police to her body which would have proven their innocence.
No one sits in jail for 90 days to cover up a "no crime" situation.
Posted by: XXX | Friday, March 31, 2006 at 10:18 AM
I feel that the OD , burial and reburial story is BULLSHIT from Dompig who has no clues as to what happened to Natalee and is relying on 'witnesses' who have no credibility.
Unfortunately , this means we are back to square one and know hardly anything new that could help solve the case.
Posted by: TYLER | Friday, March 31, 2006 at 10:24 AM
This case is never going to be solved.
The Arubans are going to wrap it up by saying that Natalee killed herself, e.g. Aruba is no threat to tourists and there isn't enough evidence against anyone to prove who disposed of her or how.
The whole thing has been a farce from beginning to end. Who ever heard of sitting on allegedly credible statements about where a body is burried for MONTHS????

Suddenly, it's Natalee's Fault That She's Dead
Sunday, March 26, 2006
Frances Coleman
If it's not the oldest trick in the lawyers' how-to book, it's got its share of whiskers: When you want to deflect attention from the defendant, you attack the victim.
Maybe he shouldn't have hung around with hoodlums, you say. Maybe he was a scoundrel who "needed killing."
Or maybe, in the case of Natalee Holloway, the victim was a sexually promiscuous 18-year-old girl who drank too much and carried drugs in her purse.
C'mon, ladies and gentlemen of the jury. Draw your own conclusions: A blonde, blue-eyed, pampered beauty from Alabama goes down to Aruba with a bunch of other spoiled rich kids, gets drunk and probably stoned, climbs in a car with three young men she's just met, and disappears.
And we're supposed to be surprised?
Sad, yes, because Natalee Holloway is almost certainly dead. But not surprised.
You hate to have to say it, folks, but it looks like she brought this on herself.
Right?
Except that there's a glitch in this long-in-the-tooth trick as it pertains to Natalee Holloway. The trick isn't being utilized by defense lawyers on behalf of their client. It's being used by the police -- the people who are supposed to be on the victim's side as they search for her killer.
But come to think of it, in Aruba, where Holloway disappeared nearly a year ago, the police never have seemed anxious to find her killer or killers, or the cause of her accidental death if indeed she wasn't murdered. They haven't even found her body.
Instead, they've followed false leads, made false arrests (remember the security guards?), given key people ample time to destroy evidence, let the news media turn the investigation into a made-for-TV spectacle, and allowed the prime suspects -- Dutch national Joran van der Sloot and Surinamese brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe -- to go free.
As if that weren't shameful enough, now the police are actively dirtying up the victim. This weekend, on CBS' "48 Hours," Aruba's deputy chief of police said Holloway probably died from an overdose of alcohol and drugs.
The person or people who disposed of her body did so out of panic after she collapsed and died, he said, adding that police now have information on "a specific burial location" on the island.
So you see, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, these nice local boys didn't hurt the girl. It's like the deputy chief told CBS: "She probably went into shock or something happened to her system with all the alcohol and maybe on top of that, other drugs she took or they gave her."
After all, the police have witnesses who say Holloway was drinking "excessively" on the day she disappeared; and although they don't know that she used drugs that day or ever, witnesses "saw her with drugs."
And we're supposed to be surprised?
Sad, yes, because Natalee Holloway is almost certainly dead. But not surprised.
You hate to have to say it, folks, but it looks like she brought this on herself.
You watch what happens next: The Aruban police will find Holloway's body, based on the "new information" they've received, and it'll be too badly decomposed for them to determine forensically how she died.
The suspects who "panicked" will never be charged with anything substantive; and, although Holloway's parents will have her remains to bring home and bury, they'll go to their own graves not ever knowing what happened to their daughter.
Somebody panicked, all right; but if you ask me, it wasn't the men who were with her that night.
It was the Aruban police.

Unfortunately I too believe that the case is going to be closed soon after the recent searches and the upcoming TV show etc would find nothing , though I hope I am wrong.
Despite what David Kock said on cable TV I feel that the chances of a prosecution without evidence are extremely low

for tourists to the island, this is an example, this could happen to you and your family.

It's possible that K2 were about to come clean and tell the truth and that is why all of a sudden a new theory had to be put together that exonerated everyone, everyone except the victim that is.
They had to send a message to K2 not to worry about a murder charge to keep quiet about whatever you know....
This reinactment is the last straw in their victim smearing, where I am sure Natalee and her friends will be portrayed as the drunken sluts that police have always considered them to be.

Posted by: harold | Friday, March 31, 2006 at 10:41 AM
Don't be so naive. It isn't "just a theory" since it is coming from the alleged head of the investigation.
It happens also to be a convenient theory that absolves Aruba of all negativity...no Arubans killed her, she killed herself....ALE couldn't solve the crime because there was no crime....any problems with the investigation are because of Natalee's family, not lack of experience or corruption of ALE themselves.
It also happens to be a completely unbelievable theory since if Natalee OD'd the 3 suspects, once they were arrested should have been BEGGING to show where her body was in order to be proven innocent of any real crimes.
It is absolutely blaming the victim and smearing the victim and her family and it is disgusting coming from the police.

Um, I thought the crackerjack Dutch forensics folks already tested for everything? Or maybe not?
Maybe they need to test again so they can find residue of the illegal drugs that Natalee used to kill herself with.

This is the government and the police force that Aruba is happy with, if their corruption and incompetance results in economic harm, so be it...reap what you sow.
I have seen more anger coming from Aruba about bad media coverage that bad police work and more anger at Beth Twitty than at whomever harmed Natalee Holloway.

The protection of these drinking and druggin MB teens has hindered this case and now whatever really happened will probably never come out. What about this jealous Kevin Broday teen? Maybe he followed Natalee to the beach, maybe they were to be together and he was pissed she left with the taller more handsome Joran? It's not too far out there, they have played this Joran card out, it would have come out by now if it was him, the FBI and many others questioned him. MB teens you will be exposed for the frauds you are!!!!
