Good heavens. Isn't this an interesting read. LOL Lie after lie after lie. Hey? Nancy Grace wasn't in Aruba that night, was she?? Gawd. Read the whole thing here.
Because of what happened in Georgia, (Nancy) Grace has said over and over, she knows firsthand how the system favors hardened criminals over victims. It is the foundation of her judicial philosophy, her motivation in life, her casus belli. And much of it isn’t true.Nancy Grace was engaged to a man named Keith Griffin. He was murdered in Georgia. And the man who killed him is serving a life sentence. In that, Ms. Grace’s version lines up with the official records from the Georgia Bureau of Investigations, newspaper articles from the time of the murder, and interviews with many of those involved in the case.... But those same sources contradict Ms. Grace when it comes to other salient facts of the crime and the trial—the facts that form the basis of Ms. Grace’s crusade against an impotent, criminal-coddling legal system.• Griffin was shot not by a random robber, but by a former co-worker.• The killer, Tommy McCoy, was 19, not 24, and had no prior convictions.• Mr. McCoy confessed to the crime the evening he was arrested.• The jury convicted in a matter of hours, not days.• Prosecutors asked for the death penalty, but didn’t get it, because Mr. McCoy was mildly retarded....In her previous career, as an assistant district attorney in Atlanta from 1987 to 1996, Ms. Grace was cited three times for sloppy trial practices. She argued hundreds of jury trials and never lost one—another chapter in her mythic back-story.But in 2005, the 11th Circuit Court in Georgia declared that Ms. Grace had “played fast and loose” with facts in her 1990 triple-murder prosecution of Herbert Connell Stephens. In 1997, the Georgia Supreme Court overturned an arson-murder verdict, finding Ms. Grace had withheld evidence from the defense; in 1994, the same court had overturned her conviction of a heroin trafficker, finding problems with her closing argument.Ms. Grace, meanwhile, plans to continue her crusade. Even if the facts don’t exactly line up. Even if it’s starting to worry her mother.“Like I told her so many times,” the elder Ms. Grace said: “‘Nancy, let it go.’”
Why do these idiots do this? Geesh. And they wonder why they have no credibility with serious people.

This information does not surprise me.
It really fits the impression I get from mdme Grace.
I still wonder in what category her show belongs.
Definitely not informative, not entertaining... fiction(?)...
But who cares? She is making a bundle with her lies, mis- and disinformation.

I don't like watching her. Too intense, always going for the throat of accused rather than looking for the facts and presenting in a balanced way. She preconvicts in her mind and slants information, classic prosecutor.

I saw her on the Colbert report. She has a really big ass.

Nancy Grace is disturbing. Period. But what scares the jeebus out of me is that I know people who take every single venomous word she spits out of her mouth as gospel. She's proof that it doesn't take anything more than a well placed connection to be a "celebrity" these days.

I think you're just jealous. My very humble opinion is that she is interesting and very hilarious. Her mannerisms and animations make her for good viewing. This is America ... if you don't like her, don't tune her up.

Why would you think that ANYone would or could be jealous of Nancy Grace?
As you said, this is America, and we're comfortable with voicing our opinions -- even if they don't agree with yours. We're also able to use our remote as we please -- if and when we please. You actually proved my point in the post above yours, so, thanks!

Now we know why she likes Beth Twitty so much. Both of them are habitual liars.

You wonder if the people who whine about Nancy Grace are the same people who are against the death penalty....support light sentences for child molesters (like a VT judge)....believe criminals have more rights than victims...etc....
I find people who hate Nancy Grace tend to be pro-criminal....the "lets execute the victims and open up the jails" type of people
Most TV lawyers are pro-crime suck ups, whereas Nancy Grace isnt. I am tired of the usual pro-crime whiney-ass wimps who spew the usual "i love criminals" crap.

Nancy grace is a disgrace for journalism!!!:0)

Doormart:
Who would you consider a pro-crime suck-up? That would be a fun show to watch, but I don't think it exists.

Turn Nancy over to Oprah.

I agree with you Dan about Nancy Grace. Nice to see you recognize it is not JUST FOXNEWS that has hired buffoons.

lol..no wonder she is all for beth twitty - they are just alike with all the " I don't know that information" and " I can't recall that" I odn't really watch Nancy Grace because she is obnoxious and rude to guests and how can you take her show seriously? It is like the Jerry Springer of CNN

Oh, yes, trash Ms. Grace whom I wouldn't watch if you paid me since she's just another lefty working the "agenda." But we desperately need a reason why JvdS could not possibly give her an interview because Ms. Grace would eat that lying little pimp boy in one bite and have his father for dessert. How embarrassing that would be for all you criminal lovers. Some reason why you waited until now to write about her, Dan? No need to try to take her down before she became a threat to Cohen's boy?

Nancy Grace seems to be addicted to the Sympathy and attention that goes with being a victim.
Posted by: Bryce | Friday, March 03, 2006 at 04:04 PM
Why do they do this? Because under the DA system, it becomes a personal vendetta. The fix lies in changing our system of elected DAs to one of the older methods of prosecution. In the older style, two lawyers are appointed to every case as it arises. One attorney is the prosecutor and the other the defense attorney. Next cast, new set of attorneys, etc.
I've known a number of DAs and every one takes the job seriously, and that is OK BUT everyone reaches the point that they feel each criminal is directly attacking them and that it is their job (the DA) to meet out punishments to these evil people. In fact, the majority are convinced of the guilt of the individual BEFORE evidence is fully gathered. Our local DA is taking on teenage offenders to teach them a lesson. She is zealous in her persecution (all too often there is not a prosecution) of those she decides are guilty.

Nancy Grace wasn't the victim, her boyfriend was. She is trying to capitalize off his killing.
Posted by: Jody | Friday, March 03, 2006 at 07:29 PM
If Nancy's boyfriend was really going to marry her, he might be happier dead.

bbunnybluebird - I cannot imagine why you would think N Grace is a lefty politically. She is about as far right as they come.

The one time I really enjoyed Nancy Grace was the night she opened her show wearing sunglasses and holding a cell phone ala Mark Geragos. It was one of the funniest things I've seen. But most of the time a little Nancy goes a loooong way.

Basically though, her show wouldn't exist if the ratings weren't there.
THIS is a fascinating topic, not NG herself but the media. Where is the responsibility? To factually report the news or to entertain? If a show like NG's gets ratings, and her "forumla" works, and it's labeled "news fiction" should it continue?

Lurking:
The article in the LA times quotes a guy who used to work for CNN talking about how Natalee Holloway was much cheaper to cover and got higher ratings than the tsunami. Seems like this is the direction of TV news
