Just an aside. I saw a quick run up to the show with Hannity chming in ... he was troubled by Joran's relaxed nature. LOL I can only imagine what he'd be saying if Joran appeared overly tense. He'd be better off not saying anything, as opposed to revealing his bias.
Chat away - keep it polite.

Joran is alot of things but he's not dumb. He knows Greta wants him to blame the Kalpoe's and if he does that going to open a can of worms. Greta lost focus here and let her motives known.
Posted by: Prince | Thursday, March 02, 2006 at 10:38 PM
I'm just getting the feeling Joran is busy defending the Kalpoe brothers with Greta's questioning. She totally got distracted here.
Posted by: Prince | Thursday, March 02, 2006 at 10:41 PM
The discrepencies between the Kalpoes story and Joran's story are really troubling. Aside from the issue of who picked Joran up, there appears to be a contradiction in terms of whether they went to the lighthouse with Joran saying they didn't and the Kalpoes saying they did.

Damn he is a good liar. I guess after nine months anyone could finally get their story believable. I still think these three boys know what happened to NH because no one just vanishes without a trace.

Yeah she is fishing for a Deepak skapegoat (we're on to you Greta) but he's not given. He cracked a bit when she asked about the two brothers not telling the police they dropped him off at his home.

He is giving it to her, he just isn't being blatant about it. He has already said twice that the brothers are lying about two different issues that are critical to the case and timeline.
Posted by: bryan | Thursday, March 02, 2006 at 10:55 PM
So atleast he is telling a well choreographed story here. So NO there is no mention of him going to school the next day and bragging about nailing the girl the night before. (couldn't remember her name..."the girl from last night" sounds like a movie)
Joran that is one heck of a long time to stew in jail on a lie. At arrest I would have rolled.

What is sick is how much he isn't telling that he knows...

Geez this kid is just going on and on and on...for cryin' out loud why didn't he put this mother out of her suffering from the go and just tell her this? I'm sorry but I just can't comprehend sitting on a lie that long, missing his entrance to college, he's talking about missing his friends, wanting to go home, not taking life for granted, thinking about what he had done "lied"
I have to be honest. I would not sit in jail for 3 months over a lie and the lie simply being "I left her on the beach, Satish picked me up not Deepak". I dunno people.
Joran is dropping some hints once she starts talking about the brothers sticking to their story and not telling the police they picked Joran up. I wonder why?

He has definately been paying attention to blogs, he knew exactly what to say when it came to blaming Skeeters.

Yeah, I seem to remember him making comments last night addressing people's skepticism about the condom issue. He is definitely keeping up with the blogs and popular opinion.
Posted by: bryan | Thursday, March 02, 2006 at 11:09 PM
Well, he finally found a lie/version that he's sticking with. Why does he keep saying "I even picked her up" again and again. See I'm not a bad guy. He didn't just leave her on the beach-he left her dead on the beach. Daddy took it from there.
Posted by: splashtc | Thursday, March 02, 2006 at 11:12 PM
Hi TIPS!
Yeah, he's calling Skeeters "sick" as if lieing and causing this whole situation were for good cause. Skeeters never would have sought out Deepak in the first place if he came clean.
The kid is smooth. Too smooth. If he was so very clean of wrong doing, simply guilty of lieing about leaving her on the beach, and he had this good sense coming to him now, you'd think he would have wisened up within a 90 day period, within a 10 day period. Yeah the three met at the pool at his house and agreed to stick to the lie but for what good reason? What kind of kid lets this type of thing go on and on knowing the whole island was looking for her, the government let employees off for a day to look for her and his bit of information could send the investigation in a different direction?
and his dad is a lawyer! THAT does not compute.
My pop wasn't a lawyer but he had the good sense to tell me straight up if you get into a car wreck don't admit being at fault for anything to anyone until we get there and have a chance to talk to you privately.
this is a whole different animal!!

He never met Steve Croes before all this????? Anyone got links to pics they are in together?
Posted by: COLUMBO | Thursday, March 02, 2006 at 11:15 PM
FloridaPatty -
Him feeling sorry for Steve Croes was the biggest joke...I can't believe he said that for poor Steve being locked up for 10 days. He only knows Deepak and Satish for 3 months, however, he knows K2 don't know Steve Croes...anyone buying this?
Funny that Deepak had Steve Croes number in his cell phone...

Hey Columbo. Yeah where are all those pics from last summer. I find it very hard to bite that one.
This island is REAL small. He runs with a party crowd. The most popular bar in town and Croes hangs out there (as does most of the party crowd of Aruba) and he never met him, never knew who he was?
We remember the pics from last summer.

Scared Monkey had them, I'll go for a hunt.
Posted by: FloridaPatty | Thursday, March 02, 2006 at 11:19 PM
First thing is that Joran would have been more compliant with the Twitt/Holloways had they not act like the KKK, that clammed him up.
Second thing is he is now telling all he knows, and that is all he can do. People can accept that or keep on trying to figure out the impossible, but the answer does not lie with Joran.
Third, Joran now has an excellent lawyer for his civil case in Joe Tacopina and the tide is going to turn on the Twitty/Holloways. It is about time and long overdue.

Too many things do not make sense in his story - big surprise there, eh?
It is ridiculous that he said that neither he nor K2 knew Steve Croes but yet Steve supposedly appeared out of nowhere to collaborate seeing them drop NH off at the HI - when there was no drop off. BIZARRE.
AND, I do not understand why he thinks we would believe he just left his shoes on the beach yet nobody found them. Oh wait, at that point and time, people were looking at the HI or the lighthouse based on HIS LIES.
Okay, and let's get this straight. He claims that when he and Deepak left the casino the night that his father called to tell him 'the girl' was missing that Deepak asked him NO QUESTIONS yet agreed to come up with the HI lie. Again, if Deepak was at home and Satish picked him up, then why in the world would Deepak not ask him any questions. Makes no sense.
And, how dare he badmouth anyone involved in trying to solve this case after he is at the very dark heart of it?
I thought he had even more inconsistencies and NON-LOGICAL comments in tonight's interview. Go figure.

------------------
I agree with you 100 percent. I thought Joran also made several slip-ups that put together with his known lies really made me doubt him. That was one of them. Technically, nothing actually went wrong that night, according to him, from his perspective as he just left the girl at the beach.... yet, what he said speaks more to involvement...in my opinion.
Posted by: musicgirlms | Thursday, March 02, 2006 at 11:27 PM
He said they had done it 20 times or more and nothing bad happen. That supports my theory that he laced the drink with a drug and he over dosed her which is the cause of her demise.

The only motivations for the Kalpoes to pickup JVDS that night and go to a bar that's nearly closing would have to be money and/or sex...there's nothing else that's logical for them to go there that late ...JVDS probably paid them for something to slip into her drink with the further promise to the boys to give them a piece of the action with her in her altered state back at his apartment...and they've most likely got a history of doing this type of thing and getting away with it..I was embarassed for JVDS listening to him fumbling over his sneaker explanation on the "beach" which is a baloney story to begin with..it's obvious to see how young girls would be attracted to him; he's good looking and articulate..but he's also a grand bullshitter which is painfully evident in the two nights with Greta.

He says he left them on the beach. However, Beth Twitty's so-called journal says one sneaker had blood in it. Really? I'll believe Joran.

also links Steve Croes to Satish Kalpoe, because both pictures can be found on too websites from the same owner, here: http://elektron.et.tudelft.nl/~ensermo/mike/pages/alltogether.htm
Satish Kalpoe can be found at the same site, in the '2004' picture album, he is on picture 37.

They are like a frickin' gang. If they won't be charged for NH's dissapearance, they should be charged for being a bunch of twats.

Its not what Vandersloot said that I think is bull. I agree that he seemed calm or whatever, but he had nearly a year to come up with all of that before he went in front of the whole world, plus there are tons of reports from media, law enforcement, and the Twittys that Vandersloot is arrogant and rude. Its funny that he gets on TV in front of the whole world and he acts like a nice guy, he's suddenly nice. Its just an act to get people on his side. Deepack even said that Joran is sometimes hard to get along with.

Well, ah, call me crazy but when I was in high school, I was not out til 3:00 a.m. on a random school night or picking up tourists at bars or being the last one to be seen alive with a missing person... BUT, I do remember how much fun being young was!

Well, I know that Dan doesn't like Diario, but Diario also had an interview with the golden sloot, and it goes a little something like this about the shoes:
DIARIO a puntra Joran dicon el a laga su keds riba beach, unda cu el a splica cu ora cu Satish a bin buske y el a bay na auto pa papia cune, Satish a bise pa nan bay y cu e lo bin bek pa busca e keds.
DIARIO a puntra Joran dicon e no a coi e keds di biaha e momento ey, unda cu el a splica cu mirando cu e kedsnan tabata hopi bieu y e echo cu Satish a bisa cu e lo bolbe bek pa nan, e no a preocupa.
In English:
DIARIO asked Joran of how he left his sneakers at the beach, and he said that when Satish came to pick him up, he went to the car to talk to him, and Satish said for them to go and that he didn’t go back to pick up his sneakers.
DIARIO asked Joran of why he didn’t get his shoes at that moment, and he said that given that they were very old and because Satish said that he (Satish) would come back to get them, he wasn’t worried.

I've heard so many differnt things about the shoes. Dont be to quick to judge that someone lied about the shoes being found or not found, because if they were found thats a big deal and that may be evidence that they dont want the public to know.

to sensible: do you always drive 20 minutes to pick someone up at 12:30am to go to a club that's closing in a half-hour?....I guess you can call that "being young"....I call it premeditated behavior to lure someone back to his apartment to take advantage of her.
