On an emotional level it is difficult not to sympathize with the President's understanding of the largely Hispanic population who are keen to embrace a better life, and earn $50 rather than 50c. However, whatever the bigger picture, one core problem for the US economy is of course the constant export of US dollars into Mexico, and Latin America by predominantly illegal workers, to their families back home. This net loss of domestic purchasing power and consumption hurts the economy. It would be different on a purely economical level if the illegal immigrants were to re-invest their earnings into US businesses and services; if they sought to build a life and future on American soil. In that instance they would contribute to US economic growth and as such be part of the economic cycle. Because they are not participating in this way, and inherently obviously not paying any taxes to boot, their activities place a drain on growth.

malkin might be on to something concerning the school buses. the rumor in dallas was that the students decided to walk out after chatting on myspace accounts with students in l.a. however, school buses were sent to pick the kids up from downtown and take them back to their schools. i don't trust our school superintendent one bit.
imo, while our economy may have benefited say ten years ago from the aliens, it is to big to handle now. if the mexicans would stop the central americans at THEIR (mexican) southern border, it would help a great deal. we can't take everybody.

Dan good points,
Other points to consider a mass of people who drain the healthcare system and the school systems and do not contributions to either one of them.
What is bothersome even more so, we are a land of laws and I am realizing that laws are made for those willing to follow, and those who chose not to follow or respect our laws get away without repercussions.

Vincente Fox is probably the biggest ethnic-cleanser in history. Slobo Milosevic has nothing on him
In Mexico...you have a lily-white Fox (not even a Spanish surname) encourage his Mestizo and Indian populations to go to the US.
If GWB encouraged blacks and non-whites to leave the US....he would be considered a war-criminal.
Its time to report....and deport. I am tired of non-Americans and their anti-American supporters hurting this nation

Have statistics been compiled which show how many people, if any, from England, Germany, Poland, Italy, etc. entered the U.S. illegally? Just wondering if anyone has those facts. As for the Mexicans infiltrating our country illegally, yes, they are poor and needy. They are also arrogant and demanding. Their attitude parallels what we hear from SOME black Americans. YOU OWE US! No, we do not. We have every right to protect and secure our country physically, economically and culturally. Placating the victim mentality will be our ruination. It's way past time the Feds started listening to U.S. citizens. If they refuse to represent the people, they have no right to tax us.
