Perhaps not more sick, but definitely infuriating.
38 year old convicted of raping 13 year old, jury gived him 30 years- judge says it's a "miscarrige of justice" and throws out the sentence. Rapist goes free. Juror get's mad and returns the $167.90 he got for jury duty- says if that's justice, he wants no part of it. Talked to the guy, he said there was no doubt in anyone's mind that this guy raped the girl, and the jurors were all in shock that the sentence was thrown out.

Talk about an honorable jurror. Yet no honor involving the Court on this one.

PIG MAN! He supposed the defense was not paying attention when he (the judge) failed to hear testimony from the rape crisis nurse who performed the rape exam so this is his solution? Oh Solomon where art thou?
..............................................
from the juror:
"There is no doubt in the minds of any of the jurists as to this creeps guilt.....This young girl was looking for help and direction in her life so she went to a Church Youth Group and this pervert tells her the Lord sent him there to help her......Later he tells her the Lord told him it was ok for them to have sex because later onthey would be in ministry together......He had the girl, her mom, and sister at his home in Pawnee...They knew something was not right and made attempts to leave and once again Mr. Pervert tells them that the Lord has showed him they will be killed in an auto accident if the leave.......There are many more points that I could make but it actually makes me ill to try and express my thoughts on all this properly.....and yes I did return my juror money...if this is Pawnee County justice I want no part of it....."

The events detailed here are definitely infuriating. But take it a little further: Three women whose lives are busted go to a church for help. Christian charity, so to speak. Some 'guy' offers them help. He's convincing enough to 'be' a member of the church to begin with, and then he's even more convincing in offering these women sanctity in the name of the Lord. Then, he's convincing enough to use the Lord to put into the women a fear of leaving when their instincts whisper to them that maybe something's not right.
Betrayal. This man should not get prison time. He should get hanged by the neck until dead.

This judge and he is a class act. He is a very thoughtful jurist and I assure you this decision was not an easy decision for him to make. I have practiced before him and he is very tough but fair. While the knee jerk reaction to his decision makes for understandable sensationalism, it is unfair. Something had to have been very wrong with the verdict. This country needs more judges who are unwilling to look the other way when they see a miscarriage of justice.
