Has it not been the same with the Dems for the last 10 or so years? This party is headed for extinction.

They wanted to showcase the issue and have discussion. They did not want to bring it to a vote before they had discussed it enough and revealed all the facts, because that will just end the discussion.

Frist, a Tennessee Republican, needs to 'Shut the H3LL UP.' For years, Frist was criticized for the HCA stock, (HCA, the nation's largest for-profit hospital company,) both he and his family were holding while directing legislation on Medicare reform and patient issues, then put under scrutiny after selling it.

Then here:

Deadly immunity
Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

When a study revealed that mercury in childhood vaccines may have caused autism in thousands of kids, the government rushed to conceal the data -- and to prevent parents from suing drug companies for their role in the epidemic.

Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, who has received $873,000 in contributions from the pharmaceutical industry, has been working to immunize vaccine makers from liability in 4,200 lawsuits that have been filed by the parents of injured children. On five separate occasions, Frist has tried to seal all of the government's vaccine-related documents -- including the Simpsonwood transcripts -- and shield Eli Lilly, the developer of thimerosal, from subpoenas. In 2002, the day after Frist quietly slipped a rider known as the "Eli Lilly Protection Act" into a homeland security bill, the company contributed $10,000 to his campaign and bought 5,000 copies of his book on bioterrorism. Congress repealed the measure in 2003 -- but earlier this year, Frist slipped another provision into an anti-terrorism bill that would deny compensation to children suffering from vaccine-related brain disorders. "The lawsuits are of such magnitude that they could put vaccine producers out of business and limit our capacity to deal with a biological attack by terrorists," says Dean Rosen, health policy advisor to Frist.

I will agree the DEMs need to get organized and initiate a strong platform for the 08 elections instead of this nic-pick'en BS...there are many issues to choose...censure of Bush's 'Terrorist Program' should be a priority...Iraq/Katrina could also be major issues.
Corruption among the REPs, i.e. DeLay/Abramoff, REP's seem to agree with corruption, DeLay won the GOP nomination to the House.

Someone needs to take responsibility for current policies, a underdog such as Feingold or a 3rd Party would work toward reform.

Boy, I can't wait for 2008....or I guess now its 2007 when all the advertising and mud slinging really begins.

Maybe we should go for a single 6 yr term instead of two 4 year terms and thereby lower cost and aggravation.
