This is a revolting read. It seems the men and women of the military can't give enough. Now stateside members, especially those who may have recently returned from Iraq will be used as campaign fodder by the very Dems who have worked so hard to undermine their Commander in Chief in time of war. These people have no shame.
Senate Democrats have mapped a political battle plan for the March congressional recess that calls on lawmakers to stage press events with active duty military personnel, veterans and emergency responders to bash President Bush on virtually every one of his national security policies.
Read it. It's disgusting the way it offers instructions on making sure they have the right flags up, make sure it's a good photo op, etc. And all the while the Dems will be attacking the administration on Homeland Security and the war, they'll be working to undermine the NSA surveillance program, as well as any positive reporting coming out of Iraq.
I have a great idea for Homeland Security. We should place the National Guard around the White House and Capital Building, preventing the Dems from gaining control of either. If you doubt that would be significant as regards the War On Terror at this point, I honestly can't understand your thinking. The Dems can't even put forth some type of plan for any of the levels on which they seek to attack Bush. And their recent history and voting records prove them to be cowards in the face of the enemy.
And of course, they'll also pause just long enough to ask for more money, something Dems always seem to do best. They believe the answer to everything is bigger government and higher taxes. I most adamantly disagree.
In almost every issue in the Reid memo, Democratic lawmakers are called upon to criticize the president for not spending enough federal dollars.
And contrast the effort with this:
As commander in chief, Mr. Bush has made frequent visits to military bases in the United States and abroad. His remarks are generally limited to explaining his war policies and encouraging the troops.

"It's disgusting the way it offers instructions on making sure they have the right flags up, make sure it's a good photo op, etc. "
You need medication to control your outrage over the one-sided Strawman story because you feel everyone does it, but not here? I seem to remember Bush's staged talk with the troops as a perfect example of photo-op that was handled the same way...there are hundreds of others from both parties that are all about style over substance.
