It seems Domenech's tenure at the NRO was a bit more troubling than many thought. And certainly far more disingenuous than Domenech allowed.
This is really rather disappointing. Actually, it's outrageous. Co-founder, or no, RedState should be ashamed to defend him now. Domemech is a fraud.
Update: Domenech comes clean RedState follows up
What's important to me is the blogosphere as a whole. And every blog is actually one or more individuals behind it. It was important, I believe, for some of the same individuals and blogs to respond to this incident just as they would to a Dan Rather, or someone with an opposing political view caught in a similar situation.
I believe more than enough of the conservative blogosphere did that to qualify this a success, not for any individual, but for conservative bloggers as a whole. Ben Domenech is young and talented with more than enough time to mature and get past this. I wish him the best in that cause.
Hopefully the incident is at an end and everyone will move on. Anyone who feels it appropriate to foolishly gloat over some short-sighted political victory would be better off looking at themselves so as to consider some likely time in their own lives when they screwed up, had to apologize and go on.
And on the blogsphere rolls....
